From Russia with Love ♥

I'm so excited for the Olympics to start this week

I wish I knew someone going to the Olympics

I absolutely love Russian Nesting Dolls

Look at the one for the Sochi 2014 Games

She is so pretty!

This collector pin is already sold out
Sure to be a hot trade it that's what your in to!

I started collecting Nesting Dolls when we lived in Germany
Now I find them at Antique Stores or Ebay

This one is from TJMaxx not exactly Russia but I love the colors!

This one I got in a flea market in Germany

Kinda sad drab faces but authentic made in USSR on bottom.

This one I bought when we were in Holland at Keukenhof Gardens
They had a huge exhibit of From Russia with Love
Large Nesting Dolls placed in gardens throughout

This by far is my favorite of my collection.
Craig gave this to me before moving back to the States.
It's the story of The Bremen Town Musicians
They are gorgeous and the details are amazing

She is not really a Nesting Doll
But reminded me of one
I was told by Antique salesman
She is a Polish Egg
But she looks Russian to me....
Love her just the same!

These next three I love because I'm nuts for Blue and White things
They are so pretty
All stamped made in Russia
Bought in Antique Stores and Ebay

I think I have enough
But do I really
I'm always on the hunt for more
If they are pretty and the right color
They are mine!

This is the closest I will get to Russia
For now!
Maybe some day!

Before and after Ikea Billy Shelves

I love Ikea

We loved shopping there when we lived in Germany

Sadly Buffalo doesn't have Ikea

But Pittsburgh does

I mere half an hour away from Katelyn's school!

I've had a vision for our Living Room for some time

Part of that vision was built in shelves

My vision is on a strict budget

A tight budget

Solution Ikea Billy Shelves with some flare added!

And hopefully by summer new couch and chairs, rug etc...

Now it seems too busy to have more stuff

1. It's been said that one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day. Do you think that's true? Do you find that an easy exercise most mornings? What's something positive you told yourself today? If you missed that boat, what's something positive you could tell yourself tomorrow?

Yes I do think it's true that and a good cup of coffee! No not always! Something positive...umm nothing today perhaps tomorrow will be "you got this"! (job hunt and interview prep mode)

2. There will be karaoke at the next party you attend...are you in? Or will you be faking a sore throat?

Does Candy Crush count as a puzzle?

5. Recently a writer by the name of Amy Glass ruffled feathers with a post she wrote saying she looks down on young women with husbands and kids and she's not sorry. Among other things, she says women will be equal with men when we stop saying house work and real work are equally important. You can read the whole piece by clicking here.

What say you? Do you think men and women are equal in the 21st century? Why or why not?

Depends on the situation....I've worked and I've stayed home. When I worked my job was not to the caliber of my husbands so all the household jobs still fell on me. I will never make has much as him, I will never be the main bread winner and I'm okay with that...it's a huge responsibility. I'm fine with being a contributor but thats just me!

6. What's a product you've noticed in the grocery store that you'd like to try, but haven't yet?

Budweiser Lime a Rita.....I'm a Margarita girl...people either love or hate it! Gonna try one of these days!

I've been unemployed for almost a week now....been applying to jobs, had one interview!
Enjoying being home while a can, it's been nice especially during these frigid snowy days we have been having. I think Sophie has been the happiest to have me home. She can be my shadow again.

Friday Fragments

Happy Friday!

❉ Today is day 2 of my unemployment....still feels weird to say that! On Wednesday evening I was

"let go" of my job, it was also my one year anniversary at said job. I wanted to make it a year and I did. It was hard to last that long with a crazy unstable boss....so being "let go" aka fired was gonna happen or I'd be quitting soon. Our personalities didn't mesh well especially with her driving the crazy train. I learned a lot this year and am turning the page on this chapter. On to the next job whatever that may be!

❉ Anybody else sick of winter yet? It's so bitter cold here! I'm hovered over a heater just to keep warm.

Tired of salty dirty car and tracking mud and snow inside, tired of my snow boots, tired of my down coat....just want to wear cute shoes again! Winter storm warning again for this weekend at this rate my wreaths on windows outside will be up until Easter!

❉ I really want to plan a vacation away this spring for my hubby and I .....somewhere warm but inexpensive! Any ideas?

❉ Today I decorated for Valentine's Day and ate my fair share of conversation hearts! That is one thing I wanted to do different this year was get back to decorating for the holidays. Once I started working last year lots fell on the way side..... I also want to pick up my camera again...my real camera not my iphone! I really miss taking pictures!
