Sophie is six....

Today Sophie is 6 years old....

November 7th is her day....

I have a confession...

 some times in the past 

I thought her birthday was November 1st...

Like last year when I blogged about her birthday here..oops! 

But strangely the year before I got it right here..Yay!

It's kinda like how I think I'm 40 years old year after year!!

Anyways....she received new sweaters and lots of toys! 

No cake...maybe a few extra treats!

Wednesday Hodgepodge and a birthday wish!

1. Have you ever been 'asked' to report for jury duty? Were you chosen to serve? If not, were you happy or disappointed?

Yes several times, I was never chosen to serve....usually disappointed but relieved also. 

2. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being very), how mechanically inclined are you? Give an example to back up your answer.

I'd say a 1 but if I had to be I probably could raise to the occasion. My hubby is very mechanical so he handles anything  in that arena.

3. Beets-cabbage-cauliflower-butternut squash....of the four, which is your favorite fall vegetable?

I love roasted cauliflower... but some butternut squash is a close second.

4. What do you recommend to overcome self-pity?

I try to think positive and know that in the grand scheme of things there is far worse things going on in the world today. 

5. Do you enjoy classical music?

Sure there is a time and place for all music...now my next door neighbor that blares Italian Opera and sings along...not such a fan. 

6. October is National Book Month...what's on your reading list this month?

Sad to say nothing.....need to head over to GOODREADS and see what's up. 

7. What is your idea of 'cute'?

Any that makes me go ahhhh! Babies of any kind.....elderly couple holding hands...

Today is my Dad's Birthday....

Hopefully he is golfing today, it's his favorite thing to do. I wish we could be there to celebrate with him. His favorite cake is Boston Cream Pie (which really isn't a cake but I'm not gonna argue with him about that. ) My Dad loves many things most of all his wife, his girls and families, his red wine, books and movies and his weather! I love him with all my heart and hope his day is as special as he is.

My Birthday week..

It's here again...turning 40 is so fun, I've been doing it for the last five years! My birthday is not until Saturday but I'm working it all week! So today I'm getting my hair cut and colored, can't pass for 40 sporting gray hair! Should be scheduling a botox appointment too but maybe next year! I can be over heard all week saying things like ....it's my birthday week so.....I'm not cooking dinner or it's my birthday week can you get me a drink of water! Yup it's pretty much gonna be all about me! lol! Still have the headband and have to say it still fits and all ready to be worn.

Today is my sister B's Birthday! This picture is from last year when three of my sisters visited me in Germany and we traveled to Barcelona. I hope she has a wonderful birthday and all her wishes come true.

Today is my Dad's Birthday! 

I wish I could be there to celebrate with him in person...maybe next year. My dad loves sunny weather, he says it's not a good day unless he is wearing shorts! They live in Arizona in the winter and in Utah during the summer months. He loves to golf, read, and play more golf. Probably pretty sad 24 is off the air, it's his favorite show. Loves going to movies, especially getting that senior discount. Popcorn with butter, good n' plenty are amongst his favorite. He loves his girls especially his number one chick my Mom.

1.Loves bruschetta, tomato soup, pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce....but lets be clear she does not like tomatoes.
2.Her foods can't touch
3.Farmville on Facebook is really hard according to her it's like being a real farmer!!
4. She is never without earrings, it's the first thing she puts on in the morning...even if she is not going anywhere!
5. She loves taking pictures....of anything and everything except people being normal.
6. She never eats condiments NEVER no mayo, no mustard, no ketchup, no special sauce NEVER
7. Will never leave the house without her hair done NEVER
8.  She can ski circles around most people.
9. She is the best ski teacher I have ever had. She is so patient.
10. She has a beautiful smile and dimples that only show sometimes.
11. People always tell her she looks like Drew Barrymore.
12. She is silly,funny, smart, sassy and wise.
13. She makes a mean cookie
14. Loves to sing in private (she is pretty good, but what do I know)
15. I'm proud she is my daughter

My birthday BOY! Today my Hubby turns 44!He doesn't want to stay 40 forever like me but whatever! I hope he has a wonderful birthday...even though he is busy working today! His family loves him very much, he has been the best husband and father. Hard to believe I have been in love and celebrating his special day more than half his life. We are excited to have cake made by Katelyn and give him his gifts. Love you Sweetie and Happy Birthday!

Today is also my twin nieces Birthday! Theses two beauties turn 17! Happy Birthday girls!

Happy Birthday Sophie

Sophie is 4 years old today! She doesn't have a clue it's her birthday...maybe it's cause in human years she is 28. Approaching her 30's may be hard, they were for me!  Or is it because she can no longer fit in her Build a Bear cheerleader outfit?


We are celebrating today Sophie style...a walk maybe a ride on the bus, new toy and treat. And than we will let her nap cause that's what she does best.

40 again!

Today I turned 40 again! My husband and daughter are doing their best to make my Birthday special. It's my second one here in Germany and it's really different not being amongst family and friends. But enough boohoo I'm 40 !! WooHoo!

My husband and daughter surprised me with a gift I have been admiring since we moved here 15 months ago. I was so shocked and thrilled. I wanted to start collecting these on our different trips but they are not everywhere like I imagined. So this is the first of I hope many more to come. Certainly made my day really special.

It's a nesting doll with The Bremen Town Musicians hand painted, it's absolutely gorgeous! I love it! Thank you xo!

Yesterday my sister Beth from Utah sent me a package. I was so happy when the door  bell rang, mostly because I thought it was the plumber I've been waiting for since Monday. Even better it was my friendly DHL guy, he was my first friend here but that's another story! He always gets excited to talk English, he said I have a package from Salt Lake City Utah in AMERICA !! I of coarse was glad I put a bra on this morning, do to the fact I was jumping up and down like a five year old on Christmas morning.
My package was filled with lots of goodies and an early Birthday present. Thanks Beth I love everything.
