Fantastic Finds....

On Friday and Saturday I scored big time.....
Found all my favorite collectables!
Friday I went to a Antique Mall close by my house...
I've only ran in there once, like a year ago....
I'm kicking my self for not stopping by more....

Here is what I bought at the Antique Mall

The little Sophie statue to the left...
Never planned on collecting or having a Sophie shrine (as Katelyn calls it!)
But once you find one, it's hard not to buy... so now I have 3!
So I collect a lot of Blue and White dishes and such...
Also have a few pitchers, so whats not to love about a combo of both!
Love all things Delft....little bunny bank...
for $4.00 couldn't say no!
This platter is not my typical blue and white,
but I loved the pattern and the price!
Not sure if I'll hang it on my wall or what!

My workout buddy told me about a flea market on Saturday...
I was so excited to go...walked through the door and almost spent all my money at the first vendor.
These two little oil paintings are from Holland they are about 4x5
perfect for my living room picture wall I'm planning to redo in the future.
She gave me such a deal $2.50 each.
I also bought these three Delft items
Love the little Salt and Pepper people
Aren't they sweet!

These is a little dish...for change or not sure what...
I love this plate and it's round edges.

I also bought this dish from her....
I love the onion patterns also....

I also found this old antique frame....
The picture doesn't do justice...it's weathered and rusty..
cleaned it up some and found an old picture of Katelyn..

Also to add to my Nesting Doll collection...
I bought this guy...it's different
But I like it!

I ran out of money and had to leave a few things behind..
But good news next month is the last of the season at this particular place...
Next year I'll be a regular for sure.
Prices were amazing and the people were so nice...
Lots of elderly people, down sizing...
say their kids don't want this stuff.....
and I say Yay....better for me!

Weekend finds....

I love garage sales, flea markets, estate sales....on Friday I hit an Estate Sale it was the first I had to put my name on a list and wait in line to even enter the house. Waiting outside for half an hour chomping a the bit to get in was killing me. But I found some good finds.

I bought this perfect condition Gnome coffee table book....why I don't know, other than I remember it from when I was a child and it was in perfect condition.

Stain Glass Tulip

 German Christmas Pyramid

Delft plant holder

Not sure why I needed this other than I love the colors!

Have a wonderful MONDAY!!

Barn Sale

I hit three Barn Sales yesterday....

Found lots at the first one...which happen to be a house we looked at a year or so ago. I found everything at this first sale and the other two were a bust. It was so funny it was far more than just a barn sale everything in the house was for sale. It was weird to go room to room and everything had a price tag on it. I found a lot that I wanted and only wished I was there when it open. I over heard this old lady say to her friend, have your ever seen so much crap!! I laughed and pushed her out of the way...I wanted some of this crap!

Here are few of my finds...

I love this jug!

This lamp is very Vera Bradleyish. I'm trying to add a splash of yellow here and there to compliment my blue and white stuff.
I also bought a stool and two planters that need cleaning up and painting. My new rainy day projects..I'll post later cause the sun is due out today so they will have to wait.

Happy Saturday!!

World's Largest

OMG!!
It was incredible, awesome and so fun!! Amazing Autumn weather, the colors along my drive from Buffalo to Schroon Lake were breath taking. My sister and I went over Friday after I arrived, not all the vendors were there. We previewed a bunch, bought a few things. Saturday was jam packed with vendors and people. They were expecting at least 10 thousand and I'd say I bummed into and cursed at least that many. I have never seen so many hillbillies in one spot, and mullets too! Like this guy working one of the booths!

Lots of vendors with retail items, lots of junk and lots of over priced antiques. Greasy food and fried just about anything you want. Lots of sweets and baked goods too! I loved it and enjoyed walking the miles of treasures. I spent $10 here is my finds....

Here is how my wall is shaping up....still room for more!
If you ever have a chance it is definitely a must do, just once or maybe twice in your life time.

So many of you are wondering if we went to the 43 mile garage sale? We sure did, well maybe 33 miles of it! It was a bust definitely a bunch of crap.I think everyone ahead of me bought all the treasures leaving the crap for me! But I did have success that morning, I went to a garage sale before heading out and found more blue and white to add to my collection.

Even though the 43 mile garage sale was a bust it was a beautiful drive. We went through so many towns I have never been to and by the names you think we were travelling the world. We went through, Holland, Boston, Yorkstown it was a gorgeous day, the colors are starting to change. In a couple weeks I'd love to do the drive again and see the difference.
Later in the weekend with my assistance my hubby redid our corner hutch. Our kitchen has cherry wood cabinets and cherry hard wood floors. I would love something different but for now it's fine! So the corner hutch we bought from the previous owners, it fits perfect in the corner of the kitchen, but it's more cherry wood. I felt like cherry wood is taking over and wanted to bring more of the black into the kitchen. I'm really happy with the results.

Barn sale gone wrong !

A few weeks ago we went for a drive to Warsaw, NY. Just outside Warsaw we came upon a barn sale....and of coarse I screamed stop the car! We pulled up and parked on the grass with the rest of the country folks, and started looking. I found something right off, some things were marked most wasn't. I asked the farmer how much and he looks at it and says that's not for sale, where did you find that? Okay calm down I thought...seriously it was like a junk yard and somehow everything that was not perfectly lined up was not for sale today! We continued to look and look....found some stuff. In the mean time Katelyn decides to take a picture of us ohh and ahhing things and a picture or two of the lined up crap treasures for sale. Here is when things went wrong...country style!

Farmer marches over and ask Katelyn to please stop taking pictures. She like, the nice girl she is does, and  said sorry. Farmer is not satisfied with that and says people have been doing that all day, it takes a lot of gall to come on someones private property and take pictures. I jumped in and said, you are having a sale it's not like we walk on your property by having the sale you invite people on. I told him we mean no disrespect to him. My husband jumped in and commented that it's unique for us and that is why she photographed it. Farmer was pissed off, watched us like a hawk and I'm pretty sure the prices doubled.

I often want to stop and take pictures of some thing I see from the road, is it a violation of privacy from the road? Should I ask permission if I'm not entering their property?

So you know when you piss off a farmer at a barn sale...in your mind you think...I'm so blogging about this!!

Paid $15
Paid $25
Paid $5

Not the deals like I found in Germany but my search is still on....and pissed off Farmer don't haggle!

We had such a gorgeous weekend....it was in the 80's yesterday. We spent almost all weekend outside, bike rides,  flea market...lunch in the city....walks.....yard work. One of the best weekends....sad to see it end!

I wanted to share our flea market finds:

Blue and White Spice holders....I have been looking for these for a long time. Only one missing is Salt.
Cost 2 Euros for set.

Gravy dish- 2 Euros

Another Gravy dish-2 Euros
(Isn't it pretty...I heart it)

More spice holders without names on them....1 Euro each.

Pretty corked blue and white delft bottle-1 Euro

Rumtopf-Rum Pot - I was told by the lady it's a rare find very hard to find in Germany right now. On the bottom it's mark West Germany-cost 7 Euros
It's perfect condition, never used from what I can tell. Rum Pots are used for layer fruit and rum and sugar stored in dark cool room for 3-4 months and used over ice cream or dessert at Christmas time here.
I love the green but am on a blue and white kick so I was on the hunt for a blue one too. Next day at flea market I found this baby...not quite in perfect condition but the color is gorgeous.

Cost 3 Euros...no lid but so pretty!
