My parents are here visiting, so we hoped in the car and headed to Canada. Less than an hour away is Niagara Falls and Niagara on the lake, in Ontario Canada. We spent time walking around Niagara on the lake, gorgeous quaint town with streets line with amazing flowers, shops and restaurants. If you love wine, Niagara on the lake is home to many wineries, B&B's and the famous Shaw Theatre.

We ended the day with a quick trip to Niagara Falls, it was crowded and hot. The mist of the falls felt good and look amazing.

Schroon Lake in the Adirondacks

Katelyn and I just spent the last 3 days in the Adirondacks! My sister and her husband have a place there, they were nice enough to invite us and two more sister's and family. Seventeen in all,eleven kids and six adults, we had a great time.

The what's and why's?

What I LOVE about Western New York,so far!

People are very friendly

Accents are really different, sounds like a mix of NY,Canada and Fargo North Dakota!

Everything is new and interesting to us

Lots of  choices of Mama and Pa diners and restaurants

Produce stands on the side of the road with NO one manning them, honor system applies

Ice cream!

What I don't understand about Western New York, so far!

Why are there so many Camaro's! I can't get that song out of my head...Bitchin Camaro!

Why does Nobody use their front door? The UPS guy keeps leaving packages at my side garage door that leads not into the house but a garage work shop. I guess some people have side entry doors. And yesterday I received a package and the mail lady went in my open garage and put it on top of my recycle can. I saw her coming up the drive, waited at the front door anxiously. Went to the garage and there she was in my garage, struck me as strange. 

Why do people park on their lawn, when they have a driveway and garage?

Why do restaurants serve a beer in a bottle only, where's my frosty mug or glass?

Why are there Garage Sales starting on a Friday?

Tonight we are taking a break from unpacking and heading over to the neighbors for a get together. Our neighbors next door are really nice, she is from WNY and he is from Italy. They have invited us and two other families for a get to know ya outing and we are going to play some Bocce Ball.  They are big Bocce Ball players on a league and everything, I think it is big in this area, maybe an East Coast thing? My husbands work even has a league! I have played before, my parents had a set but it's been years. So tonight we learn from the WNY masters!

Niagara Falls

Yesterday I went to Canada for the first time....We went to Niagara Falls Canada side in Ontario. I have always heard it is the nicer of the two sides, and it really is. It was a rainy day which was a disappointment for pictures. My favorite part was riding the Maiden Mist, it was amazing. Words can not express the excitement of being that close to the falls. We wore our blue ponchos, cinched the hoods down tight and we were drenched. I loved it in the moment but afterwards I think my fit flops stayed wet the whole night. It is a must do if you ever go to Niagara Falls.
