I don't know about you but I hate fruit flies.....sorry animal/insect activist. I mean no disrespect really! We buy a lot of fruit and sure enough our kitchen ends up a breading ground for these god awful creatures. Come on people you all hate them ...admit it ! You can't die from them, but they do carry bacteria. Yuck! Thanks to Google I found the easy solution to get rid of them.
1. Empty jar or plastic container (jam jar 0r cool whip container)
2. Slice some bananas put in jar
3. Cover with plastic wrap and a rubber band
4. Poke holes on top with toothpick.
They are attracted to bananas and they go in and can't get out. After a couple days throw the container and it's contents in outside garbage. You can also use an apple core, red wine with 3 drops of dish soap, apple cider vinegar.
Just doing my part to make the world a better place!

I don't get them too often, but I will give this a try the next time. Thanks! Have a fruitful day my friend!! xoxo
Cool solution! We do not get the little critters up here... might be too chilly for them.
I dislike them so much. Thank you for the great tip. Have a great day.
Good luck! I think I've tried similar things with good results.
Ugh... I hate them, too. Usually, I just keep all the fruit in the fridge to avoid them altogether.
I use apple juice, vinegar and dish soap. I'm always amazed at how well it works.
Thanks for the tips...
I'm not a fan of flies either.
Wash the fruit when you get it home from the grocery store. What happens is the fruit flies lay their eggs on the fruit and when you get it home, the eggs hatch.
That is some of the best advice i've ever seen on the internet! Thanks!
thank you. They make me crazy
Must try this!
Thanks for the tip~
woo-hoo!!
Wow! I never heard that one before. I hate fruit flies too.
thank you for that! they love balsamic vinegar.....so when i'm eating my salad they are zooming around...annoying! thanks for the tip!
have a great weekend!
xoxo
I am always amazed at how they just show up!
Good ideas, but I'm gonna stick to using bananas. I have other plans for my red wine, even if it is only a few precious drops!
Have a great weekend!!! How is the weather there?
I tried making a homemade trap recently too, but it didn't work very well. Did this one work?
