I'm always happy to find other Americans living aboard it is helpful and resourceful. I'm really happy I found Katie she posted recipe on Homemade bagels! You see you can't find Bagels here....seriously!
On Saturday I made Bagels for my family.....they were delish!

Cinnamon sugar Bagel before cooked

I made only a small batch of 8, because I ran out of flour and it was too cold to go to store! I made raisin one, cranberry one, 3 cinnamon sugar, 2 plain and 1 salt.

Boiling in water
then bake......yummy!

Finished product!! My family loved them, thanks Katie for sharing your recipe!!

Stop by and get the recipe from Katie and tell her Frau sent you!

This will be an interesting recipe for me to try out because a type of bagel is sold here in the UK and I can't for one minute think that it is anything like the real thing - seriously, it's like a disc of tasteless cardboard!

I liked your 'blind' visit to the museum yesterday BTW. I'm really, really surprised at no English translations - must have made for an interesting experience. :D

Wow, I've never seen a recipe for bagels. Glad you found them...we missed bagels in Europe too. I'm now living in what I think is the bagel capital of the world : ) NJ...in fact right down the road is a little shop called "The Best Bagels in NJ"

That looks sooooo good! We love bagels in our house, but the nearest bakery (re: Brugger's) that sells them is on the other side of town. And cinnamon sugar is my favorite-- although, they're so tasty, they should be considered a dessert IMHO!

This is so adventurous! Of all the baking I do I am not very good with bread dough. I wonder why that is but I heard Rachel Ray say she is just not a baker so I guess to each their own. These look delicious. I am now craving cinnamon sugar bagels at 1:30 AM. Thank you very much! ;)

Pssst! You can find bagels here, but they are very shy and are never around when you need them. Some bakeries and supermarkets have gotten the hint though and do stock them but it's hit and miss. There used to be a Bagel Brothers at Bahnhofstr. 6 but I'm reading that they may have closed.

Your homemade ones look way better than store bought, though! Yum!

that bagel brothers in bremen, bahnhofstraße 6 re-opened. they have brownies and carrot cake too. 10.000 of calories per portion I think but so delicious!
