Friday Fragments

It's a rainy muggy day in my little village here..the kind of day you bake cookies and stay in PJ's all day.
My hubby asked if maybe we could unpack a few boxes....WHAT! on a day like this....okay maybe a few!
Currently the main part of the house is pretty empty, consisted of a little rental furniture and some clothes. Our basement on the other hand has boxes everywhere. Boxes from our storage in SLC, things we have been without for two years. Mostly holiday decorations and some knick knacks and old things. So even though I have no where to put them, today we are organizing and possibly emptying some boxes and we may do it in our PJ's while eating cookies! Maybe!

Good news...our air shipment after one month of being in German and US customs has finally been released! Woot Woot! Now the wait is when the moving company is going to pick up and deliver...I hope early next week. I hope everything is in one piece, I hope all my shoes are still there!

Other news....our sea shipment is still in US customs and I hope we hear soon. I miss my bed!

I would like to report my memory of driving has returned, I've gone two whole days without a driving incident...though Katelyn might say otherwise. I have successfully mastered the roundabout in our town without screaming my way though. Woot Woot!

The neighbors that I'm borrowing their wifi from are home from vacay...really nice people! We actually had the cable company come out and currently have TV and Wifi, but the problem is there is instructions to hook up our Wifi router and well I don't do instructions well so.....maybe this weekend the hubs can figure it out..mean time I'm hanging on my one bar of borrowed wifi!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm surprised at how long those shipments are taking. Better late than never.

I wouldn't have thought about getting used to driving again in the states. I guess I take it for granted.

We had directions too for the wi-fi, and had to call the company for over the phone help. Like you, I don't do direction well either.

You are doing quite well with one bar of WiFi! You will probably ask yourself, as you empty your boxes, why did I keep this or that... For the last few years I have been ridding myself of stuff around the house that I won't ever miss or think about. I am really getting my house down to minimal stuff... my husband, that is another story. He has never met a set of golf clubs or computer gear that he can get rid of....

Love the picture of Sophie on your deck. Your deck is so pretty!

As I type this comment I have my deck door open, it is early morning here as I type and I am enjoying my French Roast coffee while feeling the delicious cool early morning fresh air.. no humidity... hope your hubby can hook up the wi fi for you. xoxo

I remember round abouts from our trip to Ireland. Can you image doing a round about driving on the right hand side (stick shift too!). Talk about SCREAMING your way through. ;-)

I found that whole tv/internet/phone thing to be one ginormous headache. My hubs finally ended up on the phone with someone regarding the router and eventually we got it going...we have a Mac which created some issues.

If you are making cookies, i am sure you can find helpers to unpack some boxes.

Nice to see you again!

Roundabouts drive me nuts, and I'm not very good at them. I've been flipped off and cussed at plenty while maneuvering my way through them!

Enjoy cookies and PJs!

Congratulations! I hope you get your stuff soon. Maybe, it is a blessing that it comes in stages in that way it is not so over whelming. I don't do hook ups well either.

You're gonna be busy all over again when everything arrives! Exciting though to have your own stuff back!

wow, you guys have the patience of saints. And the round abouts, yeah, be careful, they can be tricky. Or do what my wife did while visiting Ireland, drove straight through, didnt go around, went straight over the grass. My kids never let her forget that.
Hope you enjoyed the cookies and didnt unpack too many boxes.

Glad you are settling into your new digs!! I'll bet it's frustrating to only see your belongings come trickling slowly in. Welcome back! :)

So happy to her you are settling in nicely. You are a good driver and I am sure your gps is helping. Keep the music on high, so you will not hear anyone call you a name. Hope your stuff arrives in one piece. Organize the basement in sections and when your furniture arrives you can bring up each area at your pace, not your hubbies who has an assistant at work. Talk to you soon.

I'm jealous you will have your sea shipment soon! We are buiding a house so we won't see our household goods until November - an you are getting all settled . . . I'm driving normally now too! I only went the wrong way down a street one time :)

I;ll bet the driving feels weirder than you thought it would..

good to hear of all the readjusting going well.

Getting used to driving again I can relate to, especially after being in Ireland where everything is backwards - we often have to stop to think about what side of the road we're supposed to be on - now I understand those road signs on highway ramps that say "wrong way" - they're meant for people like us!! : )
Gotta love borrowed wifi!
