We have been planning our spring break of the first series of college tours. ACT/SAT prep and test taking is well on the way. And yesterday home from school came Senior picture form and deposits needed for Senior trip next year!! I feel like the last half of Junior year is requiring skills of a full time job. The organization skills, planning and prepping involved and the endless checks here and there.
I thank god I have the time, resources and skills to cross the t and dot the i.
But I long for the days of singing Barney songs, practicing our abc's and cutting crust off the sandwiches versus being a passenger in a 17 year olds fast paced life.
seems like yesterday.....time flies!

Amen. And amen.
Hang in there...that Jr year is a doozy!
Oh how so true. I am with you Frau.
I know how you feel..my boys are only 12 and 10 but they are growing up so fast! the oldest is getting ready for high school and we've had to tour the schools, fill out forms..reminds me of college! Im so excited to see them grow up and sprout their wings but a part of me wants them to remain just like they are forever.
Yes time does fly. It seems the older we get the faster it goes or could it be we slow down a bit. Enjoy all the moments my friend! Is any of her college choices in my corner? xo
It is true, but along comes bigger and better things. How cute is she in that pic?! She reminds me of Rachel and beth in that.
My youngest daughter is now 20, and I remember the days of cute dresses and dancing with Barney. It seems like yesterday. I can attest to how fast the time goes by, just as you are now realizing. Cherish the moments, for they are fleeting.
So heartfelt. I know. I know. After the whole college app thing the first time around I was grateful I had three years before the next and then I was grateful there was no more after that! lol!
I told my guys to start those essays during the summer because the fall of their senior year they would be swamped just with the submission process alone. We didn't do the college tours until they were accepted which did save us a ton of money and spared the heartbreak if 'the thin letter' arrived. We took the trip east when they were accepted. Those were the best trips. They treat you like rock stars once you're 'in'. Good luck to all of you! ;)
Yes, I very often wish for those days of young childhood as well.
It's crazy isn't it? How is it that time seems to take its time when we are young and yet now it seems to be going at twice the pace? What an adorable little thing she was in that tartan dress :)
Precious girl and memories. But now will come even more fun girl times for you two!! xoxo
Sure thang!
Oh i memorized the Barney song!
;)
Oh such an adorable pic of your girl! Thanks for this reminder today. Sometimes, my little boys stress me out so much that I just wish away these early years. But I know, it goes fast and I need to just enjoy them while they are small.
Have a safe Spring Break trip!
They say raising a child has the longest days and the shortest years ;-)

Thanks for the reminder. My kids are young yet... and already I feel that they are growing up way too fast.
(I just wanted to stop by and say a big thank you for all your kind words and encouragement over at Communal Global. It's always so lovely to see a comment from you on our posts. Thank you!)
Oh, that picture is adorable!! I'm with Joyce--Junior year is a doozy. Good luck with everything. Any yes, time does fly and I have no idea where it goes!
XOXO
I agree, time does fly...
It all goes too quickly! I'm just beginning to really understand that.
Good luck!
I'll do my best to enjoy singing Barney songs for you.
What a wonderful, yet scary time. I will be there next year. We are so blessed to have such rewarding mother-daughter relationships. Thankfully, when they fly our nests, they will certainly come back. :)
