Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. If you could work for any one government agency which would you choose and why?

I would say something in the Elderly and Aging sector, mostly because they need someone to look after their rights and be cared for.

2. How difficult is it for you to forgive someone who refuses to apologize?

At first difficult and over time I just consider the source. Some people never see the wrong they do and will never change. So it's just best to realize they are who they are !
3. What is your favorite meatless supper?

Cheese Pizza....Chunky Salsa Wrap....we rarely go meatless in this house. Hubby is a big believer in balance of protein and carbs!
4. Wednesday August 10th is National Lazy Day...will you be celebrating? If so, tell us how so we can be lazy too.

I wish it was today....because its pouring rain and a perfect day to be lazy! I never plan on being lazy ....somedays it just happens. Maybe watch too much TV and play some cards.
(wrote this Tuesday)
5. As a child did you have any special back to school traditions and if so, what were they? If you're a parent did you carry on those traditions with your own children?

None that I can remember, other than we always had a new outfit and shoes. School supplies and new lunch box. I loved the feeling of excitement and fear of the first day of school. For my daughter we do the same new clothes, supplies etc.. maybe a special breakfast and a little note in her lunch. Always a picture!
6. Write a summer tongue twister.
?????crickets......????? crickets.......?????

7. Would you be interested in observing a surgery or do you turn away when the nurse brings out the needle?
No way the sight of blood, wounds, flesh yikes I'm gagging thinking about it....needles I totally look away!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Speaking of needles. Yesterday I took Katelyn to the dentist for X-rays and cleaning. Our dentist in Utah is my brother in law and he is awesome...the gentle painless kind. This place was so different than I'm use to not sure if I'd go back. Fist of all they don't use Nitrous Oxide that ended it for me! I need the gas to get the shot, I need the gas to have my teeth cleaned. I said to the lady why don't you have the gas here and she said we believe you should face your fears...WTF! Why when there's calming gas to ease my pain and fear! She said I will be hard press to find someone here that uses Nitrous!
Do you need Nitrous when you have dental work?

Joining Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond today for Hodgepodge come join the fun!

Well, I won't scold because there were so many who had the same thought as you in #6 : )

I do not need nitrous for a cleaning but I also do not need a dentist who thinks I need to face my fears! I am a nervous patient and I want a dentist to recognize and empathize with that. There are a bajillion dentists around-I'd find a new one but that's just my .02.

Sounds like it's worth a trip back to Utah... We used to call it laughing gas... I've yet to see a dentist here that uses it!
Let me know when you are doing your college visit in the NJ neck of the woods!!!

I've actually never had gas at the dentist and I've got a mouth full of dental work! Must be my high pain threshold (or I'm just tough!) Even had a couple of fillings without any type of freezing - I know, nuts!

I always had a new outfit for school too and spent a good part of August helping my mom prepare her bulletin boards in her classroom (she was a teacher).

Hate needles, hate blood and even when you can see your blood vessels when getting your eyes examined!

I hate going to the dentist. I can handle it (sans gas), but I hate it.

I had no idea today was a special lazy holiday. Good excuse to keep doing exactly what I am doing!

The only doctor I like is the a dentist! This is the only part of my body that doesn't have any problems. :) I had my first filling at 27. Long store short I don't think I even had a filling. Now with the dump pills I'm on I bloat up like a whale. LOL... Give me a dentist visit anytime. :)

We rarely go "meatless" in our house either. Most things just taste better when meat is added! And hey....extra protein :)

It's so hard to find good professionals and I have to say I think you are still on the lookout. Happy hunting! :)

I would definitely NOT go back to that dentist. I myself do not need the gas but I need LOTS of novocaine. I come from the "old school" when back in the day the instruments the dentist used were HUGE and NOISY........oooohhhh I can hear the drill now. And remember that rubber dam? YUCK. Ruined me for life. Thank goodness today's dentistry is so much different!!!

I think that episode of Glee with the "gas" wrecked it for a lot of us ;-) I hate going to the dentist but, honestly, I take a Xanax before and it helps a lot.

Hang in there, xo jj
