Packer...Movers....Shakers....

The Packers are still here, not them...

But more like them...

They kicked butt the first day.....some how I think they may be hungover! Deutschland played in the World Cup last night...they are moving really slow today. It's funny they have skipped a few things but managed to pack both Craig and mine toiletry kits. One of the young men speaks good English but I feel bad for him he has to so all the writing in both languages. He keeps asking me what certain things are called....like box springs and my hubby weight machines. I think they hate us, in fact I'm pretty sure they do. They are used to Ikea furniture and we have lots of heavy pieces. One of they said he has never seen so many shoes in his life! Really cause I feel like I need to do some shoes shopping....those are so two years ago!

It is really hot here, yet they don't want the fans on...Germans do not like drafts! Even though they have sweat dripping off themselves. We bought them some water and they aren't having it.

The young one is the rule enforcer.....he said no drugs, alcohol, porn or weapons! WHAT! So he is not sure about the vitamins, I keep asking him aren't you going to pack them? And he humm and haaa's! I said they are not drugs they are for wellness! He said can you buy them in USA? Yes that is where I got them! Okay yes....yes we will ......but they haven't yet! He also wouldn't pack Katelyn's German ginger bread heart necklace...he said no food....okay! But they packed all my cleaning supplies and Sophie's food which I didn't want them too and some of those cleaning supplies are bleach!!! WTH but don't pack my heart shaped cookie necklaces!

They are really hard workers.....and listen to pretty good music.....but I still think they hate us! I hope they don't lose my shoes!

Your adventures continue to the bitter (seriously!) end! What a riot! The packers are over at Joan's house too. Today will be our last Champagne Thursday... the end of an era... xoxoxo

Gotta love the moving companies... They question the most random things! :) Good luck with the move!! And, I hope you enjoy your last few days left in good ole Germany! :)

My movers hated me too! But maybe because I micro-managed a bit too much... So hard to let other people take control of your stuff like that! Good luck getting it all done!

i experienced a moving company for the first time last year when we moved to finally farm. it was so cool! they wrapped up all our furniture in blankets and plastic wrap - even the piano! they used some sort of hydraulic elevator thing to get our stuff from the 4th floor to the truck. we had absolutely everything in boxes for them, and they were obviously surprised that we were so organized. only one thing got damaged, the coffee table, but you can't see it so it's fine. they didn't seem to mind our ikea stuff: )

aren't germans weird about moving air? REALLY people, it's not gonna make you sick! i wonder statistically how many germans never touch the AC button in their cars in summer. hehe.

i'm excited for you and thinking of our trip to new york - don't go to elizabethtown, jersey - we almost got kidnapped there.

new york is so much like germany i think the transition will go well.

drink some root beer and think of me in my rootbeer-less land.

Funny. They don't like drafts, or water?
Good luck with the move.
Count your shoes.

I've been thinking about you! I hope it goes well and they don't take anyones gameboy (which caused a major meltdown at our house!) Ours took the last of the boxes Wednesday and now we are left with getting this place in order. Can't wait for an update from you :)

Oh,.... the Packers do not hate you, ... they are just GERMAN.
I think it is because unfortunately you have not feel good in Germany, not felt comfortable here.

Sometimes I think if I would think in America the same way? Sure I would also very much as strange.

Soon you're back in your home.

Best wishes and good luck for the next few days!

Liebe Grüße Petra

(Ich hoffe, Du kannst mich verstehen?)

This has given me an insight into my future!! We too have no IKEA stuff at all and the furniture we have is so damn heavy! Guess, the Germans are gonna hate me too!! :D. What's with the no drugs thing??

WHAT??? you are moving? I am SO SO behind on my blog reading. Must catch up. Must catch up.
You just made me think... I don't like the windows down in my car, I don't like to sit near vents, and when I'm cooking and gets hot, my husband will say "open a window!" and I realize it doesn't occur to me! I must be so German!

Well if they lose your shoes, you'll just have to go buy some more.

LOL! You know, I took a good look at the 19 pairs of shoes I brought over from the States three years ago and realize I've only worn two of them... Bad.
