My permit girl....3 hours on the road under her belt, she is doing good! She is tired of hearing the thump sound of my foot hitting the imaginary passenger side break. She is tired of hearing me suck the air out of the car. She is probably a little tired of hearing a faint "oh god!" under my breath. And possibly tired of me grabbing the arm of the car door bracing my self. She has maneuvered yielding, left turns, merging, round abouts, parking in sunny weather and rainy weather...I just want to say I have prayed a lot during those three hours and swore a few times, screamed STOP once or twice. She is doing great really, according to her I'm being dramatic.....yes this coming from her 3 hours of experience versus my 28 years experience I think not.

So in six months time I will surely have more gray hair, possibly grind down a tooth or two,  be closer to god for all my prayers, may make a deal with the devil to survive this intense time. Dramatic maybe but any mother of a teen driver feels my pain!! (Pray for me!)

She looks like a pro to me. As I look back on it, I can not believe how many mistakes I made when I was young and first driving. It's so true that you really need time and LOTS of practice to get good.

Hello!! Been a while but I have been so busy with travelling, then my sister's visit and getting back to work, but I have also been lazy on purpose! Just caught up with your last few posts, love your blue wall, your collection is coming right along... I should send you a picture one of these days of my bathroom, I have a wall of pretty blue crocks on it too.

I am going to have to search for the pumpkin pop tarts! yummmmm... xoxoxo

I still tend to ride with my foot on the 'brake' when my girls are driving. Glad to hear you're surviving. I'm convinced if a parent can survive the 'learning to drive' thing they can survive anything!

I am not looking forward to that day. Be brave!

Now imagine doing that four times and you'll see why I couldn't get excited to drive around with Josh for six months. I'm not a fan of riding with anybody, much less a teenager. Good luck....it's worth it when you don't have to cart them all over creation and back anymore.

You should talk to my dad about teaching me to drive... I think I have gray hairs.

LOL... I can see it now you two Lucy girls in the car!! Shhh... don't repeat it, but I do think they should raise the driving age to 18. When I think back to when I was 16... EEKS... I do think you have a very responsible girl behind the wheel just keep the other drives at arm length. xo

P.S. the 18 age thing comes from a gal that was banded from driving in Wisconsin cuz I had too many tickets! They were not sure if still was on the point sytems I was so in the hole I owed them points. I had to move out of the state to drive and when I visited had to have my parents meet me at the stateline so one could drive my car into the state!!

I am in the midst of temp driving right now! He has had 15 hours of classroom, 6 hours of in-car (with an actual driving instructor) and countless hours chauffeuring me around. IT IS KILLING ME. Like the 4 way stops...never knows whose "turn" it is, so he just goes. OR, the stop sign that he rolled through (yes, he saw it, but there was nobody else coming....the sound he did hear was my stifled scream)...the list goes on and on. I already know that my car WILL be in at least a minor accident before Christmas. I would bet on it.

Oh, God. I can't even imagine. I think I'll move to Bora Bora for a year until my boys learn to drive.

I still remember when I learned how to drive. It was terrifying. Most people couldn't want to drive--me, I was all, "you know what, I can just walk everywhere." I'm obviously better at it now but it was really scary at first.

If you pray for me, I'll pray for you. As Kendall changed lanes yesterday, I cried out, "Go!Go!Go!" and she applied the BRAKE. Maybe I should have waited a bit for that lesson...

I have to say I am glad driving age in the UK is 18... And the lessons are pretty intense!
