This year I'm doing Black Friday with professionals like the lady in the Target commercial minus the stilettos. My sisters are serious black friday shoppers and they don't mess around. I'm packing my comfortable shoes and will be downing lots of coffee. I hope I can keep up with them, if not I'm sure to be left behind!

Sophie she is doing much better, her itching has stopped. Her coat looks the best in a long time. She is still on a mild steroid and her new allergy medicine and special shampoo seem to have done the trick for now. She is full of energy and back to her old self.

Question for all you dog people out there. Do you think vitamin D has anything to do with the coloring in a dog's coat? When we lived in Germany Sophie coat went gray and almost all white. Since moving back her color has finally returned. It's the weirdest thing to me. I haven't research it or anything like that, just curious on anyone else experiencing this.

Look like two different dogs uh?

This year....

I'm really excited for the Holidays, especially Thanksgiving. We are heading to New Jersey to spend Thanksgiving with three of my sisters, their families, and my parents. It's the first Thanksgiving since moving back to states from Germany. The last two years not having American holidays were really hard. Katelyn had school on Thanksgiving, it was just a normal Thursday in Germany. My husband worked that day also. We had a normal dinner and did normal things, but in the back of my mind I knew what day it was and my heart ache for the memory of gathering around the table toasting to all we are thankful for.

Yes we could have tried our own holiday celebration but finding anything the resembles a American Thanksgiving dinner was hard to come by. No football on the TV, no black Friday ads to filter through, no pumpkin pie! Duck instead of Turkey or even worse mystery meat! We just didn't want to mess with the memory of what once was.

So this year is a first, the first time having Thanksgiving with my East coast family in a very long time.
I'm excited to see how they do holidays.....I hope we are having regular Turkey and not Tofu Turkey! No wait my Mom will be cooking the turkey so there will be things I'm use to......but the rest may be a mystery! It's going to be different in Utah it was just the 8 of us and every other year my parents would be there. At my sisters there may be 25 or more....gonna be crazy but fun.

So much to be thankful for this year!

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Today is my Hubby's Birthday! He took the day off, cell phone is off and computer put away! He has planned the whole day...! He really wishes he is going skiing today but no snow here yet! I hope he has the best birthday ever and really relaxes! I love you Sweetie with all my heart!

Shopping....

It's getting to be that magical time of year!! Yesterday in my mail box and everyday in my inbox the enticements have begun. SHOP, SHOP SHOP....!

In the last couple years I did all my Christmas shopping online, and this year with free shipping and extra coupons I have done a lot of window shopping from my living room. 

Since you can't feel or try on products I really rely on the rating and comments from other consumers.

I always get disappointed when I really like something and I read the comments and it's given a poor review. I really only let it influence me when there is several negative comments. 

How about you? Do you read customer reviews and do they influence your purchases? 

Overnight.....

My neighbors know something and they are not telling us......! Overnight stakes showed up throughout our neighbor hood!

NOT THESE...

Driveways are lined with stakes marking the way.....why? Maybe Thanksgiving decorations? Not because it snows so much they can't find there driveway? 

Okay it's official I'm freaking out...should we be buying a generator, food storage.. what else to survive the Buffalo winter of 2010?? I feel like I need to ring a few doors and inquire about the readiness of the neighbors! At least I will know who's house is well stocked and I'll go there first storm for provisions!

This week....

I started BOOT CAMP....that is Fitness Boot Camp! 

I went three days this week, it kicked my ass. Every day I thought I would either pass out or throw up. I think my body is in total shock. There is not one inch of my body that does not hurt, okay that's not true my toes and fingers are feeling good but that is it. I'm trying it free for two weeks, even though it's kickin me around I really like it and want to join for at least three months. It feels good to sweat like that and I have never slept better than I have this week!! The thing I like about it, it's not just a workout it's also nutrition information. All the women I have met in class this week have had amazing results and had nothing but good things to say. True test is if I make it through another week!! 

Also this week....

I finally finished transferring my pictures from my old computer to my new MacBook. I'm still learning how to use this computer, it's so different. Katelyn is my teacher, she is a pro. But I have to say I love it already but it's gonna take some time getting use to it. 

Also this week......

I don't know about you but gas prices in our town are crazy high. I filled up on Wednesday for $3.03 a gallon. Drove by Thursday it was up to $3.07 and Friday $3.09 seriously Gas Company the gas is already in the tanks at a purchased price why raise it over night and timing it before a holiday many drive to Grandma's house for? Ticks me off! End of rant! Thanks!

Also this week.....

I'm so excited for Christmas, Katelyn says I'm going crazy! Yesterday I bought her a little Christmas tree for her room. Ten wreaths and red bows for each window in the front of our house. And five boxes of candy canes......in case there is a shortage this year I'm totally prepared! Plus remember Germany the creators of Christmas did not have candy canes so I'm makin up for last two years!Oh and I also bought Taylor Swifts Christmas CD but I'm not playing until after Thanksgiving I swear! I think people aren't in the Christmas mood yet because of the weather, yesterday it was 60 degrees here! And to think I was afraid of Buffalo winters.....! Today it is only going to be 55 degrees might try and get hubby to hang Christmas lights but not turn them on until after Thanksgiving of coarse!

Three of my sisters visited last weekend, we had a great time. Did lots of talking, shopping, eating and drinking wine and some site seeing! We headed for the border and spent the afternoon in Niagara on the Lake, Canada and Niagara Falls. 

One thing I didn't do was take a lot of pictures! I look forward to more visitors and another sister trip in the future.

Weekend visitors....

Three of my four sisters are coming for a visit this weekend. One is flying in from Utah today and the other two are driving up tomorrow from New Jersey. Sadly my sister Preppy Player couldn't make it this trip.
This picture is from their trip last year, when they visited me in Germany and we traveled to Spain. Gonna be a different trip this year, we will head to Canada for the day, plus see the sights of Buffalo and the small town I live in. We will be switching from German beers last year to Canadian beers, Tapas to Buffalo wings! I'm so excited to see them and show them my new home town! Unfortunately the weather is going to be cold, rainy and possible snow! So leave your cute shoes at home ladies!
