I think Americans have such patriotism and fly flags all the time. When we lived in Germany the only time I saw a flag flown at someone's house was during World Cup soccer. My Canadian neighbor had to beg his wife to fly the German flag ...she said it just isn't done! But it was amazing to see during a Soccer Tournament the pride ,flags on cars and houses it was unreal!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!! Please stop by Joyce at From this side of the Pond and join the Hodgepodge today!

I think sport is where alot of the European countries show their National Pride....I loved all the World Cup hoopla-a whole country cheering for one team made it feel so big. You couldn't help but get caught up in it.
Enjoy your day-the sun is shining here-yay!!
Oh my, what a great picnic you have packed! It's been so long since I wasn't more concerned about bringing sippy cups and kid friendly food. I would love to bring bread, cheese and wine!
Isn't it funny about the flag thing when it comes to sports? Ireland was the same. I've always admired the patriotism of Americans and I love to see all of their flags flying off their verandas and such. In Canada it just isn't the same - most only come out on Canada Day.
And I could really enjoy a picnic right now :)
Just like you I need a bigger flag!
Thanks for tossing in the escargot aka snails... just lost my appetite!! (a good thing)....
Got jury duty today whaaaa... hopefully they won't pick me! xoxo
I'm making your picnic basket list my official go-to for picnics! Perfect choices!
I could never eat Escargot either! Ick!
I too love seeing all the American flags out!
Beautiful blog!

My daughter has played soccer since she was seven years old. I get the soccer thing. The only other time I've seen a lot of patriotism is when the military gets into another war. Then you really see the flags waving.
BTW, did you know that the women's world cup is this summer? Be prepared to see more flags!
Sorry, I'm stuck on National Escargot Day . . .
I agree with you, slimy things...ewww gross.
And I love to see a flag flying too.
Interesting info about flag flying.
I tried escargot once and only once. I was too shy at the time to say I don't want it! xo
