Advent Fairy last year....

Hi I'm Katelyn's advent fairy...and I'm retiring after this year...it was a short career only 4 years! You see we have always had an advent calendar but never a fairy....Until we moved to Germany and Katelyn's friends introduced her to many new traditions, this being one of them. Germans do Christmas right... I think they invented Christmas.

Why am I retiring...she leaves for college next fall...she will be 18 soon...an adult!!! She disagrees.....
she looks forward to her daily gifts. This year thanks to Pinterest I became craftier and wrapped them all and numbered them. It's tough coming up with 24 little items....I told her this year I'm going out with a bang!

This is such a good tradition! I love it! I can see why Katelyn doesn't want to give it up!

It's a GREAT tradition. But all things must come to an end. You have to grow up and move on. She can pull it out and begin again, when she has children.

A great idea the advent fairy. Even though it won't be the same I think the fairy still can do this while she is away at school. :) xo

I love that! What a wonderful memory for her and I know a lot of fun for you!
I feel it is my duty to go to Germany at some point during the holidays.
Happy Friday!

I like this idea. We always did the advent calander when we lived in Germany. I wish we'd kept it up. It was a fun thing to do!

My daughter loves opening her "Schäfchen" every day. We have 23 sheep and one shepherd. Many days she just receives a sweet treat but we also put in lip gloss, charms for her charm bracelet,or something funny.

Usually I can barely get her out of bed and ready for school on time, but in December she wakes promptly to see what surprise is waiting for her.

Hey Advent Fairy...my girls both live away from home but they got a calendar with a verse and chocolate for each day. You're never too old : ) I agree with you on the Germans and Christmas!

You are the super fairy! I am grinning, we never do more then the Advent calendar!
You know how sentimental I hang on my traditions. Gifts every day? Woah!
Can you fly over here???

You are SO much fun. NO wonder she doesn't want it to stop!

Wow, I can see why Katelyn's disagrees! That's gorgeous. But I'm guessing you'll be sending her some rocking "care packages" at school to make up for it.

The moment I read this post I just <3 the whole Advent fairy idea. I wish I had known this before. I am determined to do it next year, but 24 presents for 2 kids means a lot of brain storming for ideas...:D You are one super duper mommy!!!
