Sundays In my City

Its been awhile since I've join Unknown Mami on Sunday!
Today's Sunday in my City is about....
My favorite time of year ...
Garage Sales, Estate Sales etc...
My heart skips a beat when I see a sign and wonder the treasures that lay ahead.

On Friday after my exercise class I drove to a little town near by.
my first time to this tiny town, there was a road block due to a propane truck that crashed.
By the time I got there I was number 32 on the list....
Not sure by you, at Estate Sales here there is a list and they only let in
10-15 people at a time.
So out side I stood in my workout clothes....and a light snow falling!
freezing and cursing my #32!

Once inside it was a made dash to the goods...
I filled my arms quickly
$28 dollars later here are my treasures....
 Brass easel $2
 Cross stitched Silhouettes $5 each
.50 for a solo salt shaker....it's pretty and come on anything for 50 cents if a keeper
The little dutch house is a KLM collector. When you fly First/Business class on KLM overseas you receive these collector houses filled with liquor. They are meant to be collected not drank. We have several from our days traveling back and forth from Germany to USA. I paid $3 for this one!
Heres my little display of houses.

 Flour container with small crack....$2.50
Book about blue and white plates $3 and a pretty plate $2
 White small platter $2
White tray/platter $3.00

Not bad uh?

Happy Sunday!

Looks like the wait in the cold was worth it! Especially for the blue pieces.

Great finds Kathy! I had one of those little KLM houses. Don't know where it is but if I find it I will send it to you. Don't hold your breath though, I may have gotten rid of it, but I just cannot remember....

Whenever I go to an estate sale in a house (in the East Coast) I feel sadness for the stuff in the house scattering to the 4 winds. Oh well, cycle of life and all that ..... xoxo

You did really well even for being not near the front of the line. I love that you found something you were already collecting too!

I have a thing for solid white (and black) plates, bowls, dishes, etc. They seem to cause food to appear more vibrant. White rice on black. Black beans on white! The other way around and it's doesn't call my name to eat it. Nice finds!

Oh my gosh! I would love to go to estate sales with you!!! I used to go with my twin to estate sales and we'd end up with our numbers, patiently waiting. We'd come away with some pretty cool treasures! Love the little house and the salt shaker.

They really organize there sales out there! Sunday in my city would be sooo boring here. The new City Creek is closed on Sunday. I am in protest of not ever going!
