Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. When were you last 'on a mountaintop'?  You may answer in the literal or figurative sense.

Last February over President's Day we were in Utah. This picture is from Alta ski resort....gorgeous day of skiing with my family. It's what we call a blue bird day!

2.  Do you establish and maintain a strict budget in your household?  What is one piece of financial advice you would offer someone just starting out on their own?

Yes we have a budget but are flexible somewhat. Save save and save some more!

3.  Cherries-yay or nay?  Cherry pie, cherry cola, black forest cake, or a scoop of Ben and Jerry's Cherries Garcia...pick one.

Love cherries and cherry cola.....but not hot or warm cherries.

4.  Should you ever discuss religion or politics with people you don't know?

I don't

5.  When you take a road trip do you prefer to be the driver or the passenger?  Where were you headed on your last road trip?

I prefer to be the passenger, last road trip was taking Katelyn back to college after Christmas break....and we do it again in four weeks.

6. If we peeked inside your closet, what color would we say is most prevalent?

Black

7. Who's your favorite senior citizen and why are they special?

My dad...because he loves being a senior citizen. Don't even get him started talking about his movie deal he gets....it cracks me up. I think he loves the whole senior concept...the right of passage. My Mom on the other hand is way too young to get a senior discount...that's for old people.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I have lots of randomness floating in my head today.....

I'm tired....working full time is kicking my arse.

Why are  gas prices here over $4 a gallon!

I stumbled upon Gypsy Sisters on TLC....omg I got suck in to that train wreck of a show!

I asked the young 28 year dentist working at our office that was leaving on vacation if she was ready to get out of dodge? She had no idea what I meant....seriously am I dating myself.....come on other hip 40 something years old say dodge right!!

I miss blogging and reading blogs....every night I come home and I'm beat and I can barely keep my eyes open....I miss you all.

Happy Wednesday!

Funny - your dad and mom's different view on being seniors.
Out of dodge - does not surprise me that a 28 yr old would not pick up on that phrase. Does she say "snap" much. I thought that was an odd one when I heard it.

So funny about the whole "dodge" thing - I think she's been living under a rock! But then she probably says "whatevs".
So is this Gypsy show as bad as Big Rich Texas? Or all the Real Housewives? We're hooked on those trashy shows - crazy but I find it just makes me appreciate my "normal" life a lot more!
Hope your job is going well even though it's tiring. xo

My mom is 82 and refers to senior citizens as 'them', like she's not one of them. I think its good actually. I know 'get out of Dodge'....guess I'm not far from being a senior myself-yikes! The age you're a senior is getting older, isn't it?

Four weeks? You're not counting are you? : ) We miss you too!

Hi Kathy,
Thank you for always stopping by to comment on my posts. It means a lot to me. I too miss your blog posts very much. How does it feel to be back working again? I wonder whether I will be able to return to a full time job. This September it will be 4 whole years since I stopped working. Happy Wednesday to you too!!

I laughed at your mom not buying into the senior stuff. I'm not crazy about it but my brother will be 67 this year and he won't take advantage of the senior discounts! Just the commercials for that show had me running away..........

I will have to use the Get Out of Dodge on my daughter, she says I am always using phrases that she has never heard of.
I have seen previews for the Gypsy show but have never watched it. It looks like one of those shows that you would get hooked on easily.

I've missed seeing your posts! I'm glad working is going ok though :)

I noticed that since moving to the netherlands nothing comes across right..our quirky sayings..like get out of dodge leaves the sounds of crickets in the room when I say them..lol I imagine u had that aswell when living in Germany.

She didn't know what "get out of dodge" means? Yikes.

Sorry work is sou exhausting. It's hard getting back into the swing and I don't imagine the winter and early dark nights help much. Hang in there.

I didn't hear the news about your new job! Congratulations. I remember when you were looking. I knew someone would snatch you up because you are a treasure!

My kids never know what any of the cool things I say mean. : (.

Wishing you a very happy weekend friend. Love, Beck

It is always good reading more about you.
We are all on a merry go round of activities and its difficult to find time for anything these days. I still love blogging though.
