It's Friday!!!

Friday Fragments~~~~ I never really sleep that good, I don't really feel like I have a lot on my mind or stress. My husband says it's because I don't exercise enough! WHAT! When I'm awake trying to be asleep ...brilliant things run through my mind....seriously I'm borderline genius in my subconsciousness... and when morning comes poof....it's gone. No memory other than I know it's was brilliant.

I took Sophie to the vet this week for checkup and shots...my vet could not find her chip we put in her in order to move here. Odd she just kept looking at me dumbfounded and I gave her the same look back!! Now what!

I decided to wear my spanx today instead of working out! Isn't the whole motive to workout, so our jeans fit better...guess what mine do! Thanks spanx! I told you brilliant...I know! I hope I don't dislocate my shoulder again taking it off.....I'm not drinking anything today either, can't risk a bathroom break!

Germany... well I guess I can't speak for all of Germany but my city doesn't celebrate Valentine's Day, according to my source....German teacher aka paid friend! She said in all her life never....really never!
I have a few decorations up...one sign says "BE MINE" . I explain it to her and she repeated it too many times and she said she was going home to tell her husband! Some how I think it will be lost in translation.
I told her I have seen a few places in the city with decorations and chocolates ....I don't think she believed me! It's weird to not have holidays be so commercialized here, there are no mylar balloons saying Be Mine or Love you...no balloons....no teddy bears holding hearts....no giant heart shaped chocolate boxes!
And NO CONVERSATION HEARTS, my all time favorite candy...or cinnamon lips, cherry juju hearts I know it's like living in sugar free hell!

And yet there must be something fatting here or I wouldn't be wearing these damn SPANX!

Happy Valentine's Day and stop by Mrs. 4444 for more Friday Fragments!!

I was thinking to myself-how can she hold this much humor so early- but it's not early there. You are too funny! I wish I had known, I would have sent conversation hearts-I love them too. Have a nice Valentine's Day in spite of the lack of celebration...make your own.

Your spanx story is a hoot, your sophie story is scary and your German teacher is well... you always make me laugh my friend. Have a heartfelt weekend my friend. xo

We had a similar experience with our dog in the UK...we had another chip put in over there. As I understand it the European scanners and the US scanners don't read the same type of chip. Immigration/Customs has something that reads both. Anyway, when we got back to the US my vet here found the orignial chip but could not read the European one. This doesn't make any sense to me because it seems to defeat the purpose...whatever...our dog has two chips. If she got lost in the UK it wouldn't have done any good for someone to find her and take her to a vet if they can't read the US chip.

oh, and as far as fattening...they may not have Conversation hearts (sorry!) but they do have a little something known as the German bakery : )

haha! so funny, you don't need spanx!
I would not mind if this holiday did not exist, to me it seems over done.
I stay awake late at night thinking and if I wake up in the middle of the night I stay up thinking. ugh, really hate this. why??

Happy Valentine's Day! :)

You and I have the same nocturnal problem. I lay awake too with my brilliant mind racing. Last night I wrote an entire Valentine's poem in my head. You will see it soon.

No Valentine's in Germany. Bummer.

I feel the same about Valentine's Day. We have Monday and Tuesday off of school for Fasching (sp?)and I made plans to go away with my girlfriends not even thinking it was going to be Valentine's Day. We went to dinner last night to celebrate and I made my hubs a little card, but there is definitely not the same level of hype over it. What I wouldn't give for a nice box of chocolates right now. I definitely miss being a teacher in the classroom on V-day...oh how the chocolates poured in!

Very fun post, and I agree, Spanx are awesome!!! I would think you are more active simply due to having no car readily available... hope your vet can figure out what happened to Sophie's chip!! xoxo

exactly why I keep pen and paper on my night stand by my bed--LOL!!

"seriously I'm borderline genius in my subconsciousness"

LOL! Aren't we all!

I really starting to think that your German teacher lives in a hermetically sealed bubble. She must be so much fun at parties. Lots of people do celebrate Valentine's Day and there's tons of stuff in the stores a couple of weeks before, at least where I live - cards, candy, gifts, flowers, you name it. Maybe it's all sold out now?

I was explaining to my 13 yr old today how we used to exchange those paper valentines in grade school with stuff like "Bee mine" and a picture of a bumblebee and he's looking at me like "Huh?" But even at his school you could buy a rose for someone for Valentine's Day and have it delivered anonymously.

haha - I think I'll put on my spanx instead of heading out the door to run in the rain like originally planned....thanks for the inspiration :)

Happy Friday! xo

I haven't been sleeping well either.

And you're not missing much in the way of conversation hearts.

So do they make full body spanx? I've got way more area to contain than my bottom.

I have solved some major world problems in the middle of the night. The weird thing is that in the morning I can't remember the solutions I came up with, but I know they were brilliant and simple.

You are funny! Spanx...LOL. I wonder where Sophie's chip got to?? That is a mystery.
Have a wonderful Valentines Day! Sorry there is no candy for you :(

Happy Valentine's Day! I just like the chocolate that comes with it. Only I wait the day after so I can get it for 50% off. I'm cheap that way.

I think your husband and mine are of like minds...."Exercise more and you will sleep better." It's not that my body isn't tired, it's that my mind is wide awake.. Love the Spanx idea!

Hide the Conversation hearts I sent you from the dog. You are so funny about the spanx. Happy Valentine's to you and your peeps. Good luck with the chip in Sophie, so weird. She is giving you a run for your money. Raise a glass and yell BE MINE on the 14th. Love ya.

YOU ARE MY HERO!

I think it's kind of awesome that no one really celebrates V-day there! You and the hubs can go enjoy a ridiulously lovely dinner without facing a crazed crowd of frantic people trying to prove how much they love one another and a 2 and half hour wait to be seated! Yay you! (I, however, will be staying in with the hubs to avoid the aforementioned)

Mmmmm...cinnamon lips...

Indeed, thanx to the spanx!

SPANX ha ha. I wore those ALL the time after I had Johnny and it really helped. You are really funny, but I have already told you that. oxxo

Killara girl said...

lol i was going to say the same thing...bakerys will do it....and the spanx will not prevail.

I don't celebrate any of the holidays much either...guess it's only American...and yes just a marketing ploy for your $. I can't believe they actually do it all in the schools too. It almost seems that from week to week they are celebrating some holiday, which leaves me somewhat suspicious of the commercial ploy.

What an interesting time in your life! Don't get dehydrated wearing your spanx! It be just like you, though and be afraid of what would happen if I had a big glass of tea.

Man, you should have had someone send you some conversation hearts! I sent chips and salsa to Africa once. The things we miss when we are away.

Hope you have a wonderful Valentines' Day in spite of the lack of co-operation there. LOL
