a friend of mine in the UK just told me this morning her husband was stuck in Australia and they said the earliest he could get home would be April 27th! It's crazy. He managed to get on a flight to New York and can get a flight sooner from this side.

Enjoy the extra days with your sister. And hey, cooking is something at least : )

That is the craziest thing - our school is coordinating the pickup up families who are stranded - can you imagine the little kids?

Well, I'm glad they were ENJOYING Germany, at least. And I'd be on board for the cooking, too... if only I wasn't deathly afraid to fly!

Nothing like volcanic ash to ruin your day.

Short of travel plans has the volcano effected you in any other way?

Well at least now you get to spend a little more time with you sister :)

Have a great day.

I saw on the news all the people stranded at airports worldwide. Was happy to see North of 25A doing something to help. That would be so scary to be stranded at an airport for so long. Reminds me of that Tom Hanks movie.... We here in Alaska would do the same to help stranded airport folks, we have our local volcano Redoubt that causes havoc from time to time but nothing like the huge blast from the volcano in Iceland. Unbelieveable!!!!

Your Big Love post is hilarious! Sending Big Love your way! xoxo

You crack me up. So sorry the family is stuck. What a mess this all is. Just terrible.
I do wish I could book that trip though.

Wow, I've heard about flights and trade being affected by this...but your the first I've come across that I see the affects personally. Wonder how long it will last?

That volcano is causing quite a stir. Enjoy the extra time you get with your sister.

Well, with my luck, I'd be stuck at home waiting to come visit and not be able to get a flight for months. It is one instance where one is totally powerless over nature, though. Wow.

Well, this just makes the trip even more special, right?

Enjoy the extra time!

hi there, i wanted to say hey, i've been to that exact spot in bremen!

such a pretty, historic place.

that volcano-- is that why the sunsets are bright red and there is a los angeles haze hanging over our city? hm!

some rain would be nice, and also, my parents would like to visit us for the first time, but the volcano halted their travel plans!

The day of the volcano I was working in my sons classroom. The sister city's HS exchange students stopped in. They were scheduled to go home that day but couldn't. Felt so badly for them! :)

Yea for volcanoes! Seriously, that was a nightmare for a lot of people, including my co-worker's son. Glad your sister was "stuck" with you :)
