Sophie

Sophie she is doing much better, her itching has stopped. Her coat looks the best in a long time. She is still on a mild steroid and her new allergy medicine and special shampoo seem to have done the trick for now. She is full of energy and back to her old self.

Question for all you dog people out there. Do you think vitamin D has anything to do with the coloring in a dog's coat? When we lived in Germany Sophie coat went gray and almost all white. Since moving back her color has finally returned. It's the weirdest thing to me. I haven't research it or anything like that, just curious on anyone else experiencing this.

Look like two different dogs uh?

I believe diet plays a huge roll in the coat of an animals fur. If you look at bears in alaska the same bear will have a different coat biased on it's diet. When it is eating berries and grown finds the coat is one color and when it it's salmon it is another color. I agree they look like two different dogs. I am glad Sophie is doing much better.

WOW. I know my pups coats changed texture when I put them on a no grain diet (and they poo less too---yippee ;) so I am betting it was/is diet related. But MAN that color change is drastic!

Wow! If I didn't know better I'd have thought it was two different pups. Sorry, I have no idea about Vitamin D but I'm glad Sophie is feeling better.

Well all I know is that my skin sure has changed a lot since I moved to Norway and when I lived in Spain my hair was insanely curly! But the real question is, what should I eat to dye my hair naturally? ;)

Love your new header!

So interesting! That's a really drastic change! I don't know about vitamin D and dogs. I do know that my hair really seemed to change when I moved to Ireland (much drier and thinner it seems) so perhaps it's possible...?

I'm so glad to hear she is doing better!! :)

My skin and hair has changed alot since moving to the The Netherlands. My nose hasn't been clear since we landed almost 4 years ago and my ears pop constantly. My hair had more natural curls back home and they are all gone now. My skin is all weirded out too..so Im guessing it cant be all that different for a dog either.
Im glad the color is back.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

That is the strangest thing. No matter what color Miss Sophie is, she is absolute sweetness.
