Sunday in My City

Today Sophie is going to Miss Jill's aka The Farm aka the boarder....I don't really like the term the Farm...isn't that the lie parents tell their child when the dog dies...that they are living at the farm!

Okay so she know's something's up. My hubby and daughter left yesterday for SLC and I leave tomorrow...once the suitcases were brought up from the basement...the sulking started. She is usually by my side all the time but now even more so.

She likes going to the Farm she really does. When we lived in Germany, all we had to say was Miss Rita's coming and she would go crazy, whining and waiting by the window the second the front door opened she would jump in the van without a goodbye or anything!

Now once her bed and belongings are by the back door she knows off she goes to her vacation. I made a ton of food for her, all frozen, packed her favorite blanket and toy. It's gonna be cold while we're gone so she wear her pink sweater....hope the other dogs aren't jealous of her cable knit!

It's such a peace of mind knowing she gets excited to go, when we pick her up she wiped out for days. I think all the action and excitement is perfect for her! She is napping from her morning nap gearing up for the week ahead!

Ah! the life of a well loved dog! Leaving bright in early tomorrow...hope to blog from SLC,Utah but who knows if that will happen. See ya soon!

OMG......

Omg...I have a job interview on Thursday.......yikes I'm so nervous, it's been so long since I've interviewed!

Omg...What am I going to wear? I've been living in jeans and sweats for the last two plus years! I don't fit in any of my old work clothes! and shoes hello I wear Ugg slippers and Sorel boots or my Dansko clogs! My feet haven't been in a working girl shoe in years!!

Omg...I can't breathe.....gasp, gasp! Anyone else feel hot and faintish? Why am I sweating...OMG!

Omg...how am I going to sell my old self, my former job skills, not the solitaire playing face book, blogger tweeting self! What the hell did I use to do? Am I still good at it....my resume looks good but that is the old me! Yikes!

Omg...Where can I buy some confidence before Thursday? And lose 40 pounds too!! Damn my hair appointment to wash that gray right out of my hair is Friday!!! @#$&!!!

Okay, okay I'm taking a big breath....ah! only one solution!!
ALCOHOL!

Sunday in My City-in one week...

In one week we are flying to Salt Lake City, Utah for winter break! So excited to see family,friends and the mountains.

My family will be skiing...not sure if I will. Might be too busy meeting friends for lunch, shopping at my old favorites and such! We are all really excited to get away....next trip needs to be some where tropical!

Happy Sunday..... Super Bowl Sunday!!

Today in my city this is what we will be doing...

 Raking the snow off our roof...I guess that's what they do here!

It's Friday!

❅Boy I really feel like Friday came fast this week, didn't you? Glad it's here and it's February!  And the sun is shining today! Yeah!!! 

❅Unknown Mami from Sundays in my City, tweeted she had her Baby girl yesterday both are doing good. Congrats Mami! 

❅I just discovered the Character feature on my MAC, only took me 3 months! Like the snowflake!

❅Nice lady in my Bootcamp class gave me an old pair of Cross Country Skis, so now I can keep up with my neighbor and not get yelled at. 

❅American Idol....fan or not? I'm really liking the judges this year so entertaining! LA last night there was zero talent to be found except the brothers at the end...they were so adorable! 

❅Not really a football fan, though I have watch more than my fair share this year! I'm excited to watch the Super Bowl and really hope the Packers win!  Go Packs!

❅It's hard to look for a job and watch the news hearing of the layoffs in Buffalo and budget cuts for the city and schools. 

❅Any fans of Cougar Town? Love that show! Ellie is my favorite...loved this week when she megaphones the neighbors that Christmas was 7 weeks ago take down your Christmas decorations. I get the lights and even some unreachable garland because of the snow..but a wreaths or Santa on the front door. There is a house down the street from us that seriously has 4th of July decorations, Halloween, Christmas and now Valentines day up!

False Alarm

We heard it was coming, the big storm! Over a foot of snow plus wind and freezing rain. Last night the TV reported all the closings as the night went on more and more popping up on the screen, all before the storm even started. Katelyn's school called around 8ish they are closed today....she was a little miffed, it's her study hall day why can't it be her double Chemistry day!

When we went to bed it was windy and lightly snowing, I woke up around 3 and peaked outside and sawing nothing coming down. It was a big fat False Alarm, just kidding...oops it missed us! We received around 3 inches and are expecting a couple more.

I know I should be happy it wasn't the BIG one, but I was kind of excited to be trapped at home with the family. Eating soup gathering around the fireplace watching the snow from the window.

This is my view instead.....the teen is still asleep...and will be for many more hours...not sure what our day will bring.....but I know I won't be trapped at home with all the milk and bread I stocked up on!

My Today...

This is my morning.....

Most mornings I start my day this way. Hanging at our kitchen table with all my electronics, my greek yogurt with little granola and berries and some sparkling water. I love starting my day connecting with the world, Yahoo news on to FaceBook than moving on to the Blog world!
