Barn Sale

I hit three Barn Sales yesterday....

Found lots at the first one...which happen to be a house we looked at a year or so ago. I found everything at this first sale and the other two were a bust. It was so funny it was far more than just a barn sale everything in the house was for sale. It was weird to go room to room and everything had a price tag on it. I found a lot that I wanted and only wished I was there when it open. I over heard this old lady say to her friend, have your ever seen so much crap!! I laughed and pushed her out of the way...I wanted some of this crap!

Here are few of my finds...

I love this jug!

This lamp is very Vera Bradleyish. I'm trying to add a splash of yellow here and there to compliment my blue and white stuff.
I also bought a stool and two planters that need cleaning up and painting. My new rainy day projects..I'll post later cause the sun is due out today so they will have to wait.

Happy Saturday!!

I love that lamp. And you're right; it does remind me of Vera Bradley merchandise. When you're tired of it, let me know. :)
Have a great sunny weekend!

Nice picks! Today is a huge subdivision-wide garage sale walkable from my house. I intend to get on my bike to scout it out. It is a bit cloudy at present but it will be a good way to get going on my bike! I don't really need anything but it is so much fun to see what's available and people watch. xoxo

my entire maternal family collects/collected bing and grondahl plates. i was so sad that my mother's day plate (1971) was a cat, and not a horse. think my sister got the horse, 1973. agh!

and my christmas plate was a mother playing piano with a baby on her lap. that's gotta be why i suffered so many years of horrible piano lessons!

i admire the collections, and we've discussed as a family how to display them ("not like a constellation!"). i have a place in my heart for the blue and white. but i don't own a single one. i expect to inherit, and by then i'll be happy to have a cat plate.

Barn sales could lure me out of the city into the country... at least for a weekend here and there! They must be so much fun.
