Joining Joyce at From This Side Of The Pond
1. Do you put Christmas decorations in every room of your house? If not every room, what rooms do you decorate?
Every room except the bathrooms and my bedroom has some kind of Christmas decoration.
Our newest decoration was found at my new favorite consignment shop. It's a mini Steinbach Nutcracker. Isn't he cute...he's about 3-4 inches high.
Great find anything with West Germany marking is rare.
2. If you could visit one of the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) which one would you choose and why?
I've been to Norway and loved it, I would love to visit Finland or Sweden....After traveling in Europe there isn't a country that I wouldn't love to visit someday.
3. What does the word faith mean to you?
Faith to me is believing in something you have no control over.
4. You can go back to your childhood for one day...what day and age would you choose?
I had a wonderful childhood don't get me wrong....I wouldn't want to go back to that awkward time in my life for anything .
5. When did you last have 'punch'? If it's not too much trouble share your favorite punch recipe.
It's been years....certainly back when I lived in Utah. No party was complete without some kind of punch. I'd say recipe sprite and frozen lemon/limeade. I personally have never made it.
6. Do you fill stockings at your house? Are stockings opened before or after the bigger gifts?
Yes we do...it's probably my favorite part of the gift giving process. We always open them first.
A standard in our house is always a Terry's Chocolate Orange.
7. What takes your breath away?
Not so much of what but more like who.....
The love of my life....and my baby girl!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Yesterday afternoon there were five deer playing in my back yard I couldn't get a clear shot but it was a sight. Some were eating the neighbors tree while the younger ones chased each other around the yard playing in the snow....it was so cute to see! I wish I could of captured it! I texted Katelyn who was babysitting next door....the kids scared them away!! :(
Happy Wednesday!

I love your West German find! I'm with you on the travel : )
random....my son skipped down our hill and unfortunately knocked his noggin on the crane...and off we whisked him away to the local ER for stitches by a cutie pie doc....who was beaming all about his newborn son. I later went back to thank the nice doc with one of my knitted hats - turns out his wife is norwegian....
I think all signs point for a trip and a skip to Norway!
Any interest in going to blogger convention in March?
It is in London - tempting, right!
pve
That is cool you got to see the deer frolicking in the snow. My dogs would have loved to chase them. ;-)
The photo you took of Craig and Katelyn is so beautiful. I can see why they take your breath away!
Love your little nutcracker and so sweet about taking your breath away.
I'd like to see Finland someday, considering my family is Finnish. I miss the deer that used to roam through our property - it must have been so cute to see them playing. :)
What a nice Wednesday Hodgepodge :-)
Love your definition of faith. Well said.
LOVE this post and all your answers. Curious though, Why don't you decorate your bathroom or bedroom for Christmas? Back in the old days we all had these huge punch bowls and made up some of the weirdest concoctions. The recipe you gave seems simple, yet delicious. The deer playing in the backyard sounds like a picture straight off a Christmas card. Take care.
Hi Kathy: Where do you purchase this chocolate orange ball? I have already tried several gourmet shops to no avail. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
My mother always used to mix ginger ale and orange juice. That was her "punch" and it was always for a special occasion. To this day, whenever I see a bottle of ginger ale in the refrigerator, I think company must be coming!
I loved all of your answers but especially the last one. You are loved and you can tell, that you love them both!
At the moment, the only room at my house with holiday decorations is the guest bathroom! (Framed pictures for visits with Santa as a kid.)
Love your little nutcracker. And of course your hubby and daughter are so cute!
Merry Christmas, xo jj
You would be so sad, I ate Cafe Rio and it madero sick. The precooked the tortilla but did not warm it before making the salad. Then the oil must have been old because it had a ransid taste. Thinking about it making me sick all over again. Off to the aquarium in the morning.
The stockings are definitely my kids' favorites too. We do them first as well.
Those chocolate oranges are SO good!
I wouldn't want to go back to childhood, either!
