What's up with....

The DOUBLE word verification!!!

As if my eye sight needs verification that it's time for readers...
Why blur one part....
I don't mind the word verification...
I know some blogger's won't leave a comment if there is one...
I go back and forth having it...
I hate spam...
But really this is crazy!!
Thoughts anyone????

I am getting it wrong more times than getting it right. It has become very frustrating.

I know!! what is up with that? I seriously hate having to type in these silly word verifications. I don't have it on my blog and rarely do I get spam so I don't see the point in having it there. I would think that it cuts down on comments since so many people can't be bothered.

It's a disturbing trend. Almost comical, but not. Why not switch to Disqus? I never have spam issues with their system.

I HATE it. It's time consuming and frustrating. They should have left things alone and not have changed it.

I dropped my word verification because of this. I haven't had a problem on my blog since.

I don't like having to do these word verifications, either. I don't have it on my blog. I did in the begining, but I found usually spammers will leave comments on older posts and that's when I catch them because I have my blog set to moderate older post comments. Comments made on current posts come through via email to my phone so I an keep a keen eye on spam on a daily basis. If you check your email on your phone then you may want to consider doing what I did. I wish more people would get on this band wagon!

I didn't know we could change this. How do I know if my blog has it? I agree it is hard at times to read it, especially being on my cell as I am now :) xo

It is some new project between Google & old books being digitized. Actually if you go to the Faded Roses blog she gave the link to why this is happening. If you want I will email you the link to why there are 2 words. One of the 2 words is from an actual old book that computers cannot scan so it is one of the word verifications. If many commenters come up with the same spelling, that word will be digitized in the book.

Hope that makes sense - have fun in Utah!!!

The word verification so so so frustrating...its really hard getting those twisted and blurred set of letters right in just one shot! Hate it! Totally...!

Ok here is the link for a great explanation on Captcha, the reason we have the 2 word verification:

I found it very interesting. Now I don't mind the 2 word verifications

Ugh. I hate it too. It's so stupid. I think some people just don't realize it's turned on because honestly...who would do that on purpose?!!

This seems to have suddenly appeared on many blogs that used to have only one. I get spam so I have my word verification on. I hope its only one-it used to be.

I read somewhere that word verification isn't necessary to keep spam off your blog. Unfortunately I can't remember the website the article was on.

The new word verification is a P.I.T.A.!!!

I tell you word verification may be the reason I had to get now glasses with a stronger prescription. Just awful.

This new format is VERY difficult and usually requires I try twice before I get it right. I'm not a fan and haven't had word verification for a while. And honestly, I don't get that much more or less junk email with or without it.

Hilary at The Smitten Image did a good post on this explaining how to remove word verification for anyone who's interested...
