Friday Fragments-Flowers & such

Happy Friday!
Hard to believe how fast this week went by...
Stop by Mrs. 4444's and join the FF fun!

* I've been reading the Hunger Games series....I know they are written for a teen audience, but I love them and can't wait to see the movie! For the record I loved the Twilight Series too! Yup my taste range from classics to trash I admit!

* Katelyn has been so busy lately, gone all the time....school, working and her social life is in high gear! My sister said they start pulling away late senior year almost preparing you for next years absence! It's weird to have an 18 year old now....she went from asking can I to I'am doing such and such....kinda threw me for a loop!

* Since she is so busy and as of August will be gone I'm taking over her lawn cutting chore. Last night was lesson one on the riding mower! I went into it kicking and screaming a little.....one or two passes I was loving it....so fun and easy! I turned our backyard into crop circles....hubby likes it straight and uniform...I like the opposite!

*Buffalo has had a mild winter and an okay spring but it was so nice to by in the sunny state of California, even though the weather was not the warmest...the surrounding landscape more than made up for it. Beautiful flowers, palm trees, blue ocean....blue skies! Lots of color at every turn!

* Katelyn brought home one of the best cupcakes I've ever had from work the other day....Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.....simply the best! I'm pretty sure it was fat free and made zero impact on my goal of healthier eating!

Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!

Pretty Pics! You guys had the most mild winter in the History. Certainly not anything like my years there..blustery, blowing snow squalls off of Lake Erie..brrr. I love cookie dough btw. Have a great weekend.

Crop circles! HAHA! I love it!
I haven't read Hunger Games but I did read Twlight. I'm a vampire kinda gal. My reading varies too. Depends on the mood I am in.

I know about the asking vs. doing. It is hard to deal with. I finally got over my 22 year old doing it this year. LOL

Have a fab weekend!

My guy's favourite thing was to ride his lawnmower - I never did ever give it a try. I got pretty good with our self-propelled mower in Muskoka though (well, I had to since I was there by myself so much).
I haven't read The Hunger Games and to be honest, haven't read or seen the Twilight series either - I know, I've been living under a rock.
Katelyn's approach is probably the best thing - pulling that bandaid off slowly instead of with one big yank.
Have a great weekend! :)

Of course the cupcake was fat free. It was free, right? So no fat.

I loved the Hunger Games. The movie is a pretty good adaptation too.

Have a great weekend! Aren't all cupcakes fat free?

crop circles - great - you need to keep them so the aliens now where to land.
The Hunger Games movie was good and I didn't even read the book.

I'm totally picturing you out there riding the lawn mower in crazy patterns. I love the visual!

I didn't read any of the books, but loved the movie. I was unable to go when my galpals went so I dragged Gary with me. :)

Happy mowing!! xo

PS Good to hear Miss K's social card is full.

I loved the Hunger Games Trilogy. Not a big fan of the Twilight movies or books, but my best friend read every Twilight book eagerly. And she has great taste!

I'm hearing about "The Hunger Games" everywhere - - - but haven't given in to read them myself yet. They just aren't my "genre."

My girls read the books (And sally the youngest hates to read) and saw the movie - they love both!!! I loved those twilight books too... hoping that Stephanie finishes and publishes midnight son soon!!!

I missed out on the Twilight craze. I was a Dark Shadows fan though. I used to run home so I could watch it.

When we had our summer home in upstate NY I used to love the riding mower but I was 16 then and hoping the local guy I had a crush on would drive by. Maybe that MO might work for you! Lol!

You'll have to tell me where Kathlyn decided on college. Boy, I can so relate to your semi-empty nest. At least come August you'll be busy getting her ready to go and have parents weekend in Octber and then she'll be back for holidays before you know it. I know you'll savor each day with her this summer. :)

Good luck with that 18 year old thing, lol. You'll get through it.

I have bypassed those famous series mentioned in your post, but I did read Steig Larsson's books and enjoyed them.

I just finished reading The Secret Garden, which somehow escaped my reading list until now. It didn't take long and I loved it. Then The Glass Castle.

I think you are right about the changing family dynamic when kids read their senior year. It is just as it should be, but harder if you only have one child.

The colors are so vibrant indeed and I am thinking of cupcakes now.

Kathy, my blog has a new address and it is on my profile. Thank you Kathy.

Oooohhh!! Look at all the pretty blooms you guys have!

I loved Twilight, too...gotta check out this Hunger Games series that I keep hearing/reading about.

And, mowing the lawn with a riding mower is way fun...or, at least relaxing. I put my hearing protection on, and escape into nothingness and the scent of newly cut grass for 2 hours every week during the summer ;)

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes...will be sure to treat myself to a do-over day sometime soon!

Keep mowing like that and you might find yourself out of a job! ;)
