Friday Fragments

Joining Mrs. 4444's today

Happy Friday!

I have to say I love chocolate, chocolate loves me! I also have to say I will be re buying halloween candy this weekend. Why I do this every year is a mystery....oh yeah because I love Chocolate! I hope our trick or treaters love mounds bars....I'm eating the good stuff!

The weatherman are talking cold and possible snowy weather next week....that means this weekend all my neighbors will be putting up there snow stakes along their driveways. Before moving here I'd never witness such an event....for some reason it stresses me out, like they know something and aren't telling us...like the big one is coming! Our drive way is tree lined so no need for stakes.

With Christmas decor up in the stores and Target already having Christmas commercials.  I'm so excited to start decorating and shopping! I know we still have Halloween and Thanksgiving to go but....I'm still excited. We always put tree up weekend of Thanksgiving. It's a artificial tree.....or a mess free non fire hazard tree. Katelyn is our pro tree decorator so happy she will be home to handle that task.

Did you read the book Life of Pi? I love the book and the movie is coming out on Thanksgiving....I can't wait to see it. We are not really movie theater goers usually wait for on demand but this one warrants the big screen.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and do something fun. We are conquering some honey do's this weekend. Looking forward to checking a few things off the long list.

I am well acquainted with snow stakes too : (

I loved Life of Pi! I've seen the previews and the movie version looks interesting but I"m nervous. The book was so unusual...hubs thought the previews looked good too and my girls read it so maybe we'll all go see it over Thanksgiving.

Have a nice weekend...hoping the weather calms down!

So glad your daughter will be home to decorate. I've already started to buy little things for Christmas stocking stuffers. I always remember that when you go back to buy it, it could be gone. Have a great weekend!

We certainly know about snow stakes!
gosh - I don't remember a Halloween growing up where I didn't need to wear winter boots and a coat over my costume. Hopefully you won't get hit too hard with that storm coming through.
All of my xmas stuff is in storage except for a few bobbles I bought last year. Looks like we'll be here for xmas this year - I wonder what I'll do about decorating - I have no place to store a tree afterwards and real trees in Dubai cost an absolute fortune! Have a great productive weekend! :)

hmm a nice sizzling steak in the snow.
(C.F. Eyecare proof reading offers you this free typo correction) stake not steak

A person would likes early Christmas decor and commercials - you are unique. Christmas should be first mentioned after you eat your bird on T-day.

What is a snow stake? I am assuming something to mark for the snow plows. It is a law that we have to park in our driveway when it snows.
Haven't even begun to think of Christmas.
Our region is going to be hit by hurricane Sandy. I don't know if we will even have Halloween. I'm afraid to buy candy and then up eating it all myself.
Happy Weekend!

Let's not talk about CHocolate or snow. Although, one I love the other not so much. Enjoy the comforts of home and eat more chocolate.

I love all the fall in your header.

I'm READY for some snow. We hardly had any last winter and I am rather snow-deprived.

I haven't picked up our halloween candy yet either. I know, that stuff is dangerous! I should just buy stuff I don't like so I won't sneak so much of it! :-)

I did read Life of Pi and thought it was a very unusual book. I liked the second half best, thought the first half was boring. I disagreed with the overall philosophy of the book, but it was a good read! I heard they are making a move of DIVERGENT--now that's one I'm looking forward to.

Sadly I haven't read the book Life of Pi! One of these days! It is hard to think of fall or winter when it was 81 degrees today. I was sweating today! Have a great weekend!

I have no idea what a snow stake is.....I must google it!

Snow stakes? Never heard of that before but I can see where that would stress you out. You better go have a piece of chocolate to settle your nerves.

I did read Pi. Excellent book, I wonder how they are going to portray certain parts.....

We might get some snow next week. I can wait for that!

Mounds are my favorite!!! I think I am getting candy I won't personally eat to hand out. Jolly Ranchers or the like. Won't eat those, ever!!

I've had Life of Pi on my bookshelf for forever. Just now, after reading your post, I picked it up and read the author's note. I'm now officially intrigued and it will be read very soon.

I'll let you know what I think of it. ;)

I have not read the Life of Pi, my to be read pile is just huge because I've been so busy writing. I may get to catch up if Sandy knocks our power out.
I love Christmas and with 11 grandchildren I have to start shopping on December 26. The commercials could wait until after Thanksgiving.
Have a great weekend!

I love your header too. I read Life of Pi, a few years ago----and can't remember much of it. I'll have to go to the movie, I s'pose.

I'm not eager for snow, though we have been seeing it in the air here. We had dreary days and rain this week, but it was warm until this front went through. Now it's sunny and cold.

Life of Pi..what is it about..sounds interesting..I'll check it out the next time I'm in the bookstore.

Hello Kathy, everything sounds wonderful in your world.

I didn't even know that they made Life of Pi into a movie! I was fortunate enough to meet Yann Martel at a luncheon and was able to get him to autograph my copy of the book. I'd be very interested to see the movie when it comes out. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog. Mmmm, I am a chocolate lover too. And even though we are going into summer on this side of the world we too are really looking forward to all the upcoming holidays and decorating for them.
