Wednesday Hodgepodge

Happy Spring!

1. March 20th is the first day of spring...is she a lion or a lamb in your part of the world?

Lion we received 6 inches of snow last night and it just started again and expected to continue until the weekend....Spring is not here!

2. What's the most dreaded task on your spring clean to-do list?  Do you have a 'plan of attack'?
My basement needs serious attention.....we still have things in their original moving boxes.....and that will be three years this July.

3. Peas...love 'em or hate 'em?  What's a favorite dish you make using peas?
I wouldn't eat a pea straight out but like them in meals! Probably a Beef strew or I have a chicken casserole meal that I like in them.

4.  Do you feel under appreciated?

No

5. Have you been using Google Reader?  If so, what are you switching to now that GR has announced retirement?  If not, how do you read your favorite blogs?
No I don't use it, I read blogs from my blog roll or reading list or from comments.

6. Anne Bradstreet is credited with the following quote~

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant;  if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome."

Agree or Disagree?  Why?

I agree I think with any season you have to experience it and appreciate it and get sick of it! With Spring come beautiful flowers but also the rain, mud and dreaded allergies! But with that said I'm ready for change!

7.  When did you last 'spring for something'?  What was it?
I just had my wedding rings resized and spruced up so I can wear them again...lets just it's been a while since they were comfortably worn.

8.  Insert your own random thought here?
I can't wait until Friday to hug my girl, it's been an emotional week for her. Her very best friend was in the bus accident this weekend and one of the critically injured Lacrosse players. Her school Seton Hill University is small 2,500 and with any tragedy it hits home. Thank god her friend survived and will heal. My heart goes out to all the young girls on the bus that morning what they went through and witness was very hard. Her school lost an amazing coach, teacher, a young mother and wife....the way they have come together as a community giving everyone strength and spirit is amazing.
The outpour of support for the Seton Hill Women's LAX team is so heart felt...teams all across the world as far as England are wearing their school colors in red and gold ribbons in their hair or on their cleats and playing for SHU.

Oh my gosh, her close friend was in that accident? That's terribly, terribly sad! I'm glad you'll see her and be able to hug her soon. :)

She will be so happy to be home and I know you will be thankful to give her a hug. It is hard to help over the phone.

Bus accidents are too often tragic. Very sad time for the college.
I enjoy peas but if I were to do these questions I would modify that to read "favorite dish you eat with peas". Have you ever tried wasabi peas?

Oh my gosh - poor thing! I can't even imagine how she's felt this week and for you to be so far away. It will be so nice to give her a big hug. xo

So very sorry for your daughter, and all the students there. Such a tragedy. I'm glad her friend will recover. It's hard to be far from our kids during times like these. You certainly feel the distance more. Glad she's coming home for a break soon.

My prayers go out to the families and those involved in the accident. Such a tragedy. I know your daughter is looking forward to being in your comforting arms. I'm with you about peas, except strangly enough I do like split pea soup. Go figure!

Snow....oh my gosh! Be careful out there. My entire house needs cleaning. I really should take a break from blogging and get my house in order. I had to go to a reader a few years ago because I reached a limit in dashboard. Now with this change I am going to do some much needed weeding. I don't watch or read the news so I didn't hear about that accident. Keeping your daughter's friend in my prayers along with the others who were injured or lost their lives.
((HUGS)) to your daughter. I am sure she will be happy to be home with her mom.

I am so sad for your daughter! Having been on a collegiate sports team, I can only imagine what the aftermath would have been like for me if that had been my team, my coach, my friends... hugs to her for sure!

Oh my goodness! I read about the accident but had no idea your daughter's friend was on the bus. My heart goes out to everyone! {{{HUGS}}} to you too!

I use Google Reader and I am disgusted with Google continually taking away products. I switched to Bloglovin.

Thinking of you! xoxo

So sorry to hear about the accident. How horrible! Spring is coming slowly to thed south. So cold today. Brrh! I actually didn't like peas as a child, but as an adult I like them. I think they tast better if they have been frozen. I read also from Blog List. It drives me crazy that these companies are always switching on us. You get used to a face and the next thing they have changed everything or for example Pic Monkey and editing program without noticed just started charging for everything. Wished thy could have gotten adds or something to cover their fees.
