Black and White Wednesday-Winter

Welcome to Black and White Wednesday
Stop by Lisa's at The long road to China and see some amazing B&W today!!

I'm so tired of winter....the cold, the snow, the grey skies.
My winter boots....hat head....layers!
I'm trying to find the beauty in this season...instead of wishing it away....I like how it looks from my window and that there will be lots of water this summer. Beyond that, shoveling cobblestone is almost impossible, I need to go to the grocery store...it's not a long walk but it's a walk. Here are a few of my favorite views from my kitchen window. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Also stop by Angie at 7ClownCircus for Wordful Wednesday!

Im feeling your pain..it's hard to be upbeat about this nonstop cold, wet, snowy winter we are experiencing right now. However it makes for great pictures and these two are wonderful!

I totally understand you. I really LOVE snow, because I LOVE snowboarding, but slowly it's getting on my nerves...
So let's hope that spring will get to Germany soon...

I'm also sending you sunshine with an award. You can find it on my blog. Take it and distribute the sun ;-)...

(Feeling guilty here in Florida!)

Wow, my pictures all look so lame compared to yours.

I'm tired of it too but your pictures are great!!

I love winter, but I do understand. The whole set-up can get very tiring. I want to grab my purse and dash out on errands. Not have my checklist of all I need to take-hat, gloves, which boots for the weather, start the car so it can be somewhat warm....uuugggg!!! You should tell us about your camera. Great photos!

Oh so pretty!! As I am sitting here watching the snow fall, yes, I am ready for winter to leave and spring to arrive!!

Enjoy your week and thanks for playing:)

love your photos! hang in there, girl!

We're having a blizzard here today. Even my husbands office is closed. Which is nice because it means I don't have to pick up the shovel : )

Hang in there!

Just bundle up and go with the flow, it won't be much longer....maybe you need to make yourself a hot chocolate and start a nice book. The Help is a great read, it will swallow you up quickly! xoxo

March is just around the corner! Hopefully the sun shines where you are soon. Great shots!

Spring will be here, soon. However, people in Richmond, Va are cranky today. We have another winter wonderland and wrecks everywhere.
Hugs,
andrea

Even here in north Alabama, we're getting tired of winter. Mainly because all the winter we're getting now is cold, wet, dreary and gray. Yuck.

Lots of snow here, too. The trees are pretty, but blooming trees are better.

Enjoyed the pics.

I hate winter. I can't really complain because ours is mild this year. But I will anyway because we got some snow last night and it's still falling.

Beautiful pictures!

A wonderful view from the heart of the home! Sending many hugs your way! xo

I too am getting tired of winter but, given that it is only the beginning of February I know that I still have 2 1/2 months of it to endure...

Winter looks a lot prettier in pictures - enjoyed seeing yours.

Cathee said...

I hear you on the long winter. The pictures are beautiful of the melting snow.

Nihal said...

Oh yes, I understand you:) I'm tired of dressing like a polar bear recently but from yesterday our weather turned out to be so nicely hot, over 10C degrees. Sun is shining out strong and I ask myself why I am sitting in front of this screen;) Need to go out to enjoy blue skies:)

Oh, your snow is so very, very pretty! I was just out shoveling... SO much work! Holy Wow! I tried to take a few pictures but I hate getting my camera wet! It makes me super nervous!

Hope you have a wonderful snowy day :)

Despite your distain (and I'm with you there)for this never-ending season you managed to capture a moment, frozen in time.

I love this!!

Stay warm.

I understand what you're saying about winter, although I have to admit, I'm a fan. I love the snow, love to ski, love watching the kids play in it. At the very least, you've captured some beautiful photos of the season, right?!? :) Great job!

I am tired of the cold and snow too...it's almost spring...right : ) Ya sure. LOL
Nice shots...: )

know how you ofeel....i was outdoors all seasons...but not here. we do movies, knitting as you know, i plan my summer now, pickup some new hobbies, go visit museums...stuff you normally do inside. The German winter is very long.

here's the texture i used on henri

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rubyblossom/

i use microsoft picture it and just layer the photos together then use the transparent mode to blend from the middle of the background so the photo comes thru. that's a pretty basic (oh i can't call it a technique because i'm not that technical) but you know what i mean i'm sure. i'm sure photoshop has much more elaborate ways to do this...do you use photoshop?

Love these, especially the second one. I like Winter (said like, not love) but am getting a bit tired of it now. We live in the state of Wisconsin so get lots of snow.

Those branches are gorgeous, but I would also prefer them to be green (or at least blooming!)

Christine @ 12,450miles said...

Love that water drop on the branch! Great shots this week! (And yeah, so tired of the snow here in New England...)

Life Laugh Latte said...

Lovely pictures. Yeah...it is a hard adjustment to go from Maui to the chill of winter (even if it doesn't get that cold in N.California). Turn the heat up, put on your bathingsuit, lay on a towel and take a nap. Yeah...that just might do it. Holly:)

I am sick of Winter to! I am suffering from spring fever!!! I got it bad!

Casey said...

Beautiful!! I love the second one where you can almost see the water turn to ice.

I hope it warms up for you soon!! Thanks so much for visiting my blog too!

Sharon said...

Very beautiful, but I feel your pain.

Thanks for stopping by ~ your B&W photo is lovely. I must admit that I'm trying to enjoy the moment I'm in this winter as well. It doesn't help that I'm dreaming of spring and summer:)

what a beautiful way to capture it. makes me wish we had it more.

I am ALSO over winter... entirely. Wet floors from slush? OVER! But those pictures are stunning... the stark contrast really highlights the harshness of the season. I tried to do something similar and ended up with "meh" shots that were more dreary and depressing than the weather. Lovely!

I love winter, but it's starting to pall on me a little, too. Something about the monotony of snow and grey ... I'm ready to see green, growing things and sunshine! Beautiful pictures, way to find loveliness even in the midst of gloom.

Lisa said...

Oh, I think its like for so many of us...really. I feel enchanted with the first snow and a white Christmas.

I love the sledding and novelty of Jan. snow, but by mid Feb?? I'm SO ready for Spring! LOL

Love your views and your positive outlook too!!

Unknown said...

I love the second one with the little drops of ice. And I also want winter to end! I need sunshine!

I know, I hate the winter. Bring on the warm weather, please.

Matty said...

I know!!!!!

I can't wait to retire and move to a warmer climate.

I totally understand what you're talking about ... I'm SO ready for spring or even just a little sunshine would be nice!

I LOVE those pictures, very cool!
I am SO over winter too...I'm giving it until March then I'll start complaining. :)

Boozy Tooth said...

So beautiful, Frau.

I live in Florida and even I have had it with this winter blah.

But as long as it's this cold, it might as well snow and give us lovely images. Yours are delightful. Thank you.

I love the little frozen drop on the second picture! It is fantastic.

Spring will find you soon...

Blessings~

Ooh! I really like the second one. I am become a winter fan as I have gotten older (weird I know) but I do have to admit all the grey we have had is enough.

Definitely beautiful.

I'm not minding winter much yet. Maybe that's because I know we have at least six weeks or more left of ours...haha
