Finally......My Amaryllis bloomed!
It took a long time, I think next year I'll plant the bulb earlier.
It's the first time I've ever planted one, it took a long to bloom and didn't last as long as I hoped.
But it was beautiful, Black and White doesn't do justice so I snuck a colored one into my collage.

I had never dealt with an amaryllis until one year I gave one each to my mom and my grandma. They loved them and the bloom was stunning. Love your pictures.
Have you ever tried paperwhites? They are fun and very fragrent. Love Amaryllis!

She sure is a beauty! I have never had an Amaryllis, but I have had Paperwhites (as likeschocolate). The Paperwhites do give a beautiful scent. Hey, I have an idea, we should switch this year- I will try an Amaryllis and you the Paperwhites! Enjoy!! xo

Congratulations, isn't nature awesome! You're right, B&W doesn't do this plant justice and you needed color in the collage. I have never done an amaryllis or paper whites. Add this onto my ever-growing list of things to do.
Looks like planted the tulip bulb late. I will be very lucky if I have a bud popping out!!! The Amaryllis is very beautiful.

My favorite Christmas flower- so what it came a month late!!!
However- if you want to force a bloom keep in a warm place with LOTS of sunlight. Vice versa- if you want to prolong the bloom- keep in a cold , dark place :)
I think your photo sequence is great the contrast between the black and white and colour adds a lovely dimmension.

Just beautiful! I don't think I'd ever be able to get one to bloom.
So pretty sitting in that basket. I woke up this morning to find that my amaryllis had bloomed its last. It was sad to let it go, but then I cliked here and...voila! Lovely!
