1. What do you do at the first sign of a cold? Will you get a flu shot this year?
I load up on vitamin C and start drinking a lot of water. Yes I always get a flu shot ....once you've had the flu you never want it again.
2. What advice can you give about how to conquer fear?
Just do it....life is too short!
3. Share two good things about your life right now.
Good health and family
4. A hot fall fashion trend in 2011 is a return to sixties style...tunics with pants, shift dresses, pencil skirts, cinched waists, bold prints, high necklines and short lengths to name a few. How does this fashion trend fit with your wardrobe and personal sense of style?
It doesn't....I can't do it! I like cardigans, scarfs, jeans, my dansko's , turtlenecks etc...for fall I like the browns, orange and reds...blacks always. Bold colors are not me.
5. Were you involved in scouting as a kid? How about as an adult?
Yes I was a Girl Scout until 8th grade...I have fond memories. I help with my daughter's brownie troop but it was short lived.
6. Apple, pear, plum, pumpkin...your favorite fall flavor?
Apples..... I like an apple spice candle or potpourri.
7. What characteristics do you think are essential in a good teacher?
Connecting with the students, teaching in a way it captures their interest and peaks their knowledge.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Today I pulled out all my fall decor and started decorating for the season. I love the splashes of red, orange, yellows and browns. But I found these velvet pumpkins on Love Feast Life Shop and am in love with the rich blues and grays. I ♥ them!!!
I really wish I knew how to sew and had a creative side...I would make these myself!
Stop by Joyce From this side of the Pond for more Wednesday Hodgepodge .

I'm hoping I'll have some time to wear sweaters around Christmas time here. But for now, I am loving the tunic tops with pants and shift dresses. Love turtlenecks though.
Love those velvet pumpkins - wouldn't they look great lined up on one of your many mantels? xo
I love the pumpkins...some people are just so clever!
You are so right, once you get the flu, you don't ever want it again!
I was a Scout in high school and we did a lot, camping, jungle trekking, jambories etc., etc.,. I really I missed that period of life some times.
Beautiful pumpkins and happy Wednesday!
I'm with you sista. I so want to pull out my container flowers and add the fall ones in the deep rich colors of orange, reds etc... xo
OMG those velvet pumpkins are FABULOUS!!! I am going to check out the website (when I get to work) tee hee hee xoxo
Love those pumpkins! They are absolutely fabulous. And I loved your hodge podge answers. A return to sixties style? Ha ha! It's gonna be an interesting fall :)
I forgot about Vit C I totally start taking hat like crazy when I think I am starting to get a cold. I also make my husband start taking it too. LOL!
what a fun way for me to get to know you since this is my first visit here (came over to thank you for your thoughtful comment on my guest post on Scary Mommy).
The 60's style totally doesn't fit me either! But I bet my teenage daughters will be rockin' it ;)
Those velvet pumpkins are so pretty!
Are you on Pinterest? If not, you MUST join!
Today I said "self...time to shed the red/white/blue summer stuff and head for the fall stuff... love those velvet pumpkins - check out pottery barn - grapevine pumpkins w/ tiny white lights... my problem is I want 3 of them... Happy Fall!!! (going to VT this weekend, so happy)!!!
Those blue pumpkins are so pretty! Blue is my favorite color :)
I'm also not a real fan of that particular style that was mentioned, but I can see maybe incorporating a thing or two. I prefer to blend in, not stand out in BOLD colors!
I love the flavor pumpkin, but I adore pear even more. Yes, I will get the flu shot just because as a mother I can't afford to be down. I was a brownie, but not a girl scout.
