Sunday in My City- Dreams do come true!

What do daredevils dream of....
doing daring things..

This week in my neck of the woods
the final go ahead was given
for tightrope walker Nik Wallenda to cross
Niagara Falls from US side to Canada side
220 feet above the Falls
1,800 ft. long walk
it will take 40 minutes....

This has been his dream since he was 6 years old
He is 7th generation of the famous
Flying Wallendas

The event will happen this summer....
So if you are looking for something to do this summer...
It will be quite a sight....

What's going on in your city?
Stop by Unknown Mami and travel the world with her

Happy Sunday!

That would be something spectacular to see, but I would be so nervous for him, I would probably keep my eyes shut most of the time. I hope you'll get some photos to share.

Holy cow.. that's crazy. I would be to afraid to watch. Nothing going on in Baltimore .. just waiting for the snow that is not coming. It looks like a good day to take sally out to lunch.

Ah. The Flying Wallendas. Seventh generation? Wow. I visited Niagara Falls when I was only 6 years old, but I remember it like it was yesterday. I hope you can witness the crossing.

Do you have a spare barrel? I enjoyed a great time there with my daughter years ago. Have you ever gone on those huge boats that dock in the little Canadian town down river? If you don't know what I'm referring to, I could look it up. It was a wild boat ride.

What a crazy family those Wallendas. TThat will be crazy, 40 minutes? Wow.
Speaking of tight rope walkers, have you ever seen the docu Man on wire? I think thats what its called. About a Frenchman who walked between the 2 Trade Center Towers in NY. Well worth watching if you haven't.

Neat-o! Do you happen to know when he will do it this summer?? We might be coming home to ONtario (and visiting Maine) for a visit and this would be a fun thing to witness!

Happy Sunday!

Love the red mittens with the white snow heart in your header! LOVE that.

I think it's cool that SOMEONE wants to walk across Niagara on a tight rope, but that someone is NOT me!!!

I LOVE The FALLS. They are near and dear to my heart. I hope and pray that Nik Wallenda crosses
Niagara Falls from US side to Canada side, safely without incident. It would be horrible if he fell to his death for the sake of a stunt.

That takes some kind of courage.

Having been to the Falls, I can imagine him doing this. The wind effect must be powerful up there.

Well, let's hope he doesn't go flying...
