Big girls don't cry!

For the record I had no control over the tears! Yesterday I went with my husband to get his haircut, while I was waiting, I asked the guy that works there if they do eyebrows? Ja! come sit! Do you wax or thread? Ja! he says! Okay buddy that's not really an answer, but my bad for asking two questions at once. He than comes around the corner with his tools...thread and tweezers! Oh boy I thought there is no turning back now!

Have you ever had your eyebrows done this way? I have once well twice now, but after the first I vowed I would never do it again. The pain, oh and did I mention the pain, it hurts! So there I was already in the chair and sporting a uni brow to boot, so I obviously needed to be there. But did I mention the pain and oh it hurts!

Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably, I know I tried breathing and in my mind I was having a little talk with myself saying suck it up! The whole time my husband was two chairs away saying " oh man that looks painful!". After he was done, I wipe the tears and looked in the mirror, wow it was amazing! No more uni brow and very little redness. So he says okay now we do the lip! And I said I don't know I think it's fine! No he says its not fine we must do! The tears started again and maybe a little whimper! The pain from the eyebrows was nothing compared to the lip. He did half first and let me breathe some and finished the job.

My lip and eyebrows looked amazing, I was thankful I didn't ask for a bikini wax also! The best part was the price for both the total was 7 Euros! I think this would be a perfect form of torture! I'm thinking of bringing Katelyn there next week, not for the torture please her uni brow is bad!

I have seen that done in the mall and it looks scary! You brave soul! I am such a wimp with wax so I can only imagine the pain! Send photo of end result!!! The bikini area would require an epidural for sure!! HAHA! Love ya, Mary:)

I never heard of the thread. Only wax. Even the wax hurts!! I don't get it done much, I try to pluck myself! I'm such a chicken!!

I've never waxed anything, although every summer I contemplate the bikini area... I'm never brave enough to go through with it, though. It's not the pain that scares me so much as the embarrassment of revealing my bikini area, know what I mean???

I don't understand what they do with the threads??? You should totally post some pics of your new brows! I'd love to see them!!!

I've heard the results from this method are better than waxing but had no idea it was so painful!! I find waxing painful enough - now I know that if given another option I'll decline. Yikes!

LOL... I'm sorry but you had me laughing so hard!! I can't believe he mentioned your lip. LOL... Please forgive me for laughing, but this is so something that would happen to me!!!

I have never done thread, but have been interested. Waxing is enough for me after reading your post.
Hugs to you my hairless friend. xoxo

ahh! The price of beauty.
I bet it hurts less if you keep doing it. You know the nerves die and there isn't feeling anymore.
Isn't that weird that I just wrote that after my last Sparky post??!!
Call me! we are stuck home as it is a big snow day here.

All in the name of BEAUTY!

Sounds painful, but the payoff of very little redness afterwards is tempting. I've heard of this technique but it's still old-fashioned waxing and tweezing around here.

Ouuuuuuch! Owie! I'm almost in tears just reading this!

Mother used to say "You have to suffer to be beautiful," so you must be looking gorgeous! You are a far braver soul than I!

Grins & Giggles for your week ahead,

I must admit, I am envious. I have virtually no eye-brows, having fair hair and I always wanted those dark eyebrows, to me, they are like a very good frame.
Audrey Hepburn had amazing brows. Wow 7 euros.
Wish I was there to dry your tears.

Oh my goodness. I'm just about crying from reading this post. I'm so glad that it came out so beautiful. I could not take this pain. I only do waxing because the pain is quick. As a matter of fact I'm overdue. Thanks for the reminder.

So glad it looks good.

I've never tried it - I'm nervous about the pain factor.

So much better than waxing because it doesn't pull on the skin around the eyes which as we know is prone to wrinkle. The pain lessens with time, trust me. Am enjoying your blog as we lived in Germany for 7 years.
