I never really thought of dogs knowing other languages and if they can be Bi-lingual. Today while on our walk we passed a jogger and his dog, he yelled for him in Italian. Passed another walker she yelled at her dog in German. Some times when Sophie comes back from the boarder she seems confused, I think it is because the boarder only speaks German to Sophie. Now I'm pissed because it dawned on me, Sophie knows more German than I do!

Our dog speaks several languages.
Perhaps some German Music would help you learn.
I love learning new languages!

As long as she's not secretly calling you a Schnitzel Kaupf (that's how you spell Schnitzel Head, right?) I think you're good.

Very true! Our beagle was a rescue from the Amish and since husband speaks some PA Dutch he "talked" to the dog and he understood! It was hilarious.

Thankfully he learned the English phrase "go potty OUTSIDE".

Dogs bi-lingual? I've heard of CRAZIER stuff than that.

You could always go stay at the boarders for a while. It's probably easier to learn when you are locked up in a pen and away from all of the distractions. I bet Sophie would get a kick out of that! She is so cute and bilingual!

Hi - just found your blog via Lenorenevermore's giraffe post.

Our Neckshund is multilingual - we have taught him the word for 'biscuits' in four languages!

That is hilarious. And it pisses me off too, that the dogs around here speak far more fluent Bengali. Goddamned smartasses...
