I never really thought of dogs knowing other languages and if they can be Bi-lingual. Today while on our walk we passed a jogger and his dog, he yelled for him in Italian. Passed another walker she yelled at her dog in German. Some times when Sophie comes back from the boarder she seems confused, I think it is because the boarder only speaks German to Sophie. Now I'm pissed because it dawned on me, Sophie knows more German than I do!

xo
Hopefully, that will motivate you to learn some German, LOL
Cute pic of your little doggie!
I've always known dogs are brilliant. I'm sure Sophie will be happy to tutor you. =)
Our dog speaks several languages.
Perhaps some German Music would help you learn.
I love learning new languages!
Ahhh, cute picture of Sophie. I bet she does understand some German, she looks very smart!
I'm bi-lingual----I know the word,"das Fenster". (window) That's pretty good right?
Have a great day! Ha.
XOXO
OMG! too funny. It is true though. I speak to my dogs in german and english. They know!!! :)
oh too funny...you're right! and she has spent no money in lessons!
As long as she's not secretly calling you a Schnitzel Kaupf (that's how you spell Schnitzel Head, right?) I think you're good.
Awww, I'll bet she's confused!
I would be too...
Very true! Our beagle was a rescue from the Amish and since husband speaks some PA Dutch he "talked" to the dog and he understood! It was hilarious.
Thankfully he learned the English phrase "go potty OUTSIDE".
Too funny. Want me to teach him French?
I never thought about animals being bi-lingual - guess she is. You better getting learning :)
That's just funny.
hahaha...sign language is important too...non?! :)
Ja!!! I wonder what stories Sophie could tell you (in German of course) xoxo
You are so funny!
That is something I never thought about. Huh! Maybe she'll be able to teach you a few words.
Haha funny.
Cute doggy by the way :)
adorable pic!
Dogs bi-lingual? I've heard of CRAZIER stuff than that.
You could always go stay at the boarders for a while. It's probably easier to learn when you are locked up in a pen and away from all of the distractions. I bet Sophie would get a kick out of that! She is so cute and bilingual!
Oh Kathy... LOL... you are a hoot!! Thanks for the early laughs. xoxo
that is so funny!
Have a wonderful weekend. xoxo
my neighbor's dog understands Hebrew. He knows more languages than I do.
Hi - just found your blog via Lenorenevermore's giraffe post.
Our Neckshund is multilingual - we have taught him the word for 'biscuits' in four languages!
I forget what Dogs say in german. Guau Guau? Nope thats in spanish.
Untch Untch?
Sounds about right to me. With an oomlout of course.
That is hilarious. And it pisses me off too, that the dogs around here speak far more fluent Bengali. Goddamned smartasses...
He's probably having a lot of fun ordering take out from the local wurst stand. Ya ya, mit sauerkraut bitte.
thanks for the camera info..i needed that feeback to help me decide because i didnt know that about the canon.
Oh God yes. Dogs are excellent at linguistics.
Wow - I am still working on English for my 2 cats.
I guess dogs are smarter!!
