I had GRANDIOSE plans....

to decorate the front outside windows with a wreath and red bow....we have twelve front windows! I was so excited I found 20 inch wreaths at Walmart for $2 each and red bows for $1 making my plans affordable....everything was set to go! Until the big snow storm came and the bitter temps showed it's evil ways.

So we braved the weather and hung two...my hands are still cold! At this rate we should be done by Spring!
Last night we went for a drive to see Christmas lights, I was a little disappointed at the display or lack of in our area.....now I know why! It's to bitter ass cold out and everything is buried under 1.5 feet of snow!

Next year we are starting to decorate right after Halloween...yup we will be those people!!

We don't get as much snow as you do but we've learned to at least get all the lights on the trees on those freakish warm(ish) weekends in November...we don't turn them on until after Thanksgiving but at least they're up. When you live up north you understand why decorations go up a little earlier than other places. Looks great though!

We don't have the snow and still don't have our outside complete. We did get the wreaths up and lights in the window, but the rest is well...still "resting" in the garage!

Blessings,
andrea

12 front windows?! Thank goodness I am not the one cleaning them. Maybe all the windows won't be sporting a wreath, but the one in the photo looks beautiful!
Weather gal says more snow by the end of the week. It has been so cold you should see how I sleep! xo

In our parts we start hanging the white lights before the snow falls. Except I don't know what happened to my white light people, they have called me twice, told me they are coming and no lights so far. It has been super cold here too. I have seen the weather news regarding the lake effect snow hammer your area. I think you have it worse, Former Frau.....

PS My mom's surgery is supposed to take place Wednesday (tomorrow)... we shall see... she celebrated her 79th birthday on Monday!! xoxo PS Love Katelyn's wreath! Somehow I missed that post.

That is a huge job. Yes you have to start way early. At least you now have the wreaths.

The window looks very pretty. If I were you, I would bundle myself up well and hang the remaining wreaths too. They are way too beautiful to be kept waiting till next christmas.

WE are being the Grinches this year. Karl refused to hang lights and I refuse to pay someone to put them up. I think your two wreaths will look great! I love your house, it is the perfect picture of east coast living!

Yeah, a lot of people start putting their decorations up about mid- to late-November here. They might not actually turn the lights on until December, but once December hits, there's no guarantees on weather!

The snow is already really high for you. I want a nice cozy Christmas season!
Best wishes Petra
