Themed Christmas Trees?

Do you have one? I really like a mix of all kinds of ornaments on my tree. I have homemade ones, ones from the dollar store, lots bought from our travels and many are gifts. If you looked at my tree one my think we have a theme.....skiing! We have so many skiing Santa's and skiing snowmen. Plus skiers, skis and snow shoes! Most have been given to us, few bought also. But when you have a daughter and husband that love skiing I guess you end up with a theme tree without trying!

Here are some of my favorites-

German Skier and Newest Ornament Vintage German Camera from my sister, Beth (thanks xo)

 Bremen Town Musicians

Santa climbing Eiffel Tower

Jim Shore Ornament-My mom has gotten me one for the last 4 plus years. I love them! I think she joined a club without knowing and doesn't know how to stop them from coming each year.....So now I have a collection and look forward to them each year!

Eleven Days Until Christmas!!
Happy Monday!

oh, i love the bremen town musicians!!!!!!!!!!! i would totally want that: )

if i had a theme it would be the christmas horse tree. all horsie things.

but i'm not into christmas ornaments, and i am very grateful for a few boxes of plain red balls and felt snowflakes and some brass bells that my mother in law gave me. they are completely adequate!

and i have to ask, have you ever heard of the christmas pickle? my husband asked me that the other day, because it is a german thing, but hardly any german has heard of it. it was on the radio, the history of the german christmas pickle. of course i have one, given to me by family as i moved to germany. you're supposed to hide it in the tree somewhere. it's one of those things that americans think germans do, but germans have never heard of.

for me it's hard to decide what i like better, colored lights or white. or blue. or green. i get so excited about each one! it seems like germans are all white. but i have the multi color, they are so cheerful. i don't know what i like best! i do love the real candles on the tree that my mother in law lights every christmas, or was that second christmas? i forget.

Our tree holds memories. Ornaments the kids made, ones from our travels and ones I bought every year for both boy that pertained to whatever activity they were involved in. It's kind of bittersweet looking back at all the ornaments and decorating it before they come home but it also inspires me to get it done and have it waiting for them although I know this is more of a 'mom thing'. I don't think guys really care but oh well. :)

I think the Bremen Town Musicians will always hold a special place in your heart (& Katelyn's)

Very pretty tree decorations! I am not really sentimental so I have no stash of ornaments, nor have I ever collected them. I DO have a whole bunch of Christmas trees that I scatter around the living room. So far I have only brought one up from storage. I have to get cracking!

I love your tree - so cute!! You have such a fun assortment of ornaments and funny how a theme develops without even really trying! My ornaments really vary - the only thing they have in common is that they are white, silver, cream, or glass. Love that camera ornament! :)
ps: shhhh - don't you be giving anyone any ideas about me having too many sneakers!

Love the German skier! We have the same one! :) And, I never used to have a themed tree, until we moved over here... Now, our tree is decorated with all of the ornaments I've picked up during our travels... And I absolutely love it! Every time I look at it, it reminds me of the different places we've been to. And, I know it'll definitely be helpful next year, when we have to move back to the U.S... We'll be able to look at the Christmas tree and have it remind us of all the fun times and great memories we had while living over here! :) Glad to see you're doing so well back in the States! Love your Christmas decor! :)

These are *darling*! We have a few small trees with themes, one is all skaters and one used to be all ducks, but someone became tired of the ducks. (Seriously.)

I prefer 'old collected and added to' as a theme. Not a fan of the color themed with fancy-shmancy stuff. Oh, I love the camera!

You have such beautiful ornaments. The only theme I have on my tree are homemade ornaments, made as a family. Those are treasured year after year.

I also have some nice pieces by Jim Shore, I love it very much.

Your mixed decoration... I like that! Especially the "Bremer Stadmusikanten".
Our christmas tree is also decorated with lots of different decorations, I love color.

My tree is filled with memories. I've never had a themed tree and would never want one..unless you call memories a theme..lol

What beautiful ornaments! I also love a variety of fun ornaments. I had been collecting Christopher Radkos for years (on sale after Christmas) & 2 Christmas trees ago the tree went down with a bang & I lost many. The good news is that they are fun to replace!
Ho ho ho,
