I'm nervous...

I've been awake since 3:30am....my mind was racing. Millions of things going through my head, none of them helping me sleep. Printed off these bad boys yesterday, mailing out today...I'm nervous, excited and scared. Looking for a job after being off for two years...haven't interviewed in at least 10 years! Yikes can you see why I'm nervous! What if I lost the skills while living aboard...my new skills are blogging, Facebook and FreeCell solitaire! I'm a whizz at all those but can I sell myself on my old job skills...see now your nervous for me too!

I'm looking for a part time job as an Administrative Assistant, only want to work 9-3 but 2:30 would be better! Oh and did I mention I'd like to work close to home due to the fact it snows a lot here and my car and me both don't like driving too far in it! So what do you think......I know see why I'm not sleeping and nervous! Hard to make the life change once again....if only we moved back to Salt Lake City where my old job that I loved was there....and all the people I adored working with! Okay some one slap reality back in me and push me out the door to the Post Office!

Happy Monday all!

On a side note I have emailed many resumes out, this pile is focusing on my immediate area rather than ending into the big city. Trying it old school !

Take two deep breaths. When you get called for an interview appointment, go in there and believe in yourself.
Do you have powerpoint at home, or Word doc. That might be good for practicing. If not, try your Library. It'll all work out. What meant to be will be. Believe in yourself! :)

can you save time and email them?

Kathy, would you believe some of the jobs I went in "just for fun" are the ones I got AND loved them. After being on the other side of the desk asking the questions- my best advice is if you can get an interview go on it, even if it isn't the one you think you want- practice makes perfect. Plus it will prepare you for the job you want. xo

Are you also looking online, where you can email your resume?
I work with people getting back in the "working world" -happy to look at your resume if you want.
Have you considered substitute teaching...great hours?
Good luck, chin up - get yourself to interview!

I'm sure you'll land something great! Just keep thinking positive thoughts and keep smiling - it's amazing what a positive attitude will do! You can do it!!! :)

ps: after each interview I have always mailed a handwritten thank you note and have had many people comment on how much they appreciated it in this age of technology (after I've landed the job!!)

It's always scary when you head back to the workforce..I've been there and done that a bunch of times. I always work myself up into a big frenzy and then later on I ask myself why I did that because it all turned out ok..lol

You are going to GREAT! good luck!

Anyone that has had to move internationally immediately would get the job. I am wishing you all the best. Does this mean you will quit your blogging job cause the money is so good...right!
