Irene

I was in Northern New Jersey visiting my sisters when Hurricane Irene hit. We have all watched the news reports of the devastation Irene left behind, sure it could have been worse and thankfully it wasn't like Katrina. My heart goes out to those hit by this storm especially those in Vermont. The water in all these pictures receded and the trees that fell have been removed, life has gone back to normal, for many the clean up continues.

Earthquakes, Tornados, Hurricanes...turning the calendar to September...school starting....colors peaking from trees....changes are happening on every corner.

It's a new day....it's Saturday....hope it's a beautiful day for you.

PS the little animal in middle is a soaked and scared chipmunk. My niece took the picture...hope the lil guy made it.

Mother Nature can be so gentle with one had and so fierce with the other. My heart goes out to all hit by Irene. Im glad you are home safe. Is that a little animal in one of your photos? I'm on my phone so hard to see. Big hugs xo

Glad you are home safe. I read about Irene from a sailor's blog and it was both exciting and disturbing.

Hope your Saturday is beautiful.

Glad you and your sisters are okay. What's the animal in the middle picture?

Yes, this weekend feels like a pause before all of the changes take place...fall, school, ect. Have a nice weekend :-)

Frau-
Our little village was under water and a new favorite pizza spot is preparing to re-open. Mother Nature sure knows how to keep people and animals on their toes!
Twins are doing fine, thanks for asking.
How is the college search going for your gal?
Happy September!

I looked and looked at the little critter and thought it was a kitten for the longest time. Heartbreaking picture. I hope the little chipmunk made it too.

All is well at the Jersey Shore where my sister and mom live. But my brother in Belmar was without power for about 5 days.

Wow...that's scary stuff. Very glad you're safe and sound. Let's hope there is some positive change around the corner, as opposed to all this negative stuff! Be well, my friend <3

It has been one crazy ride!! I am so glad that you guys did ok through Irene. I heard that some of New Jersey was flooded.
We had a few battered doves in our back yard on the morning after Irene ~ They were a mess but they finally got it together and flew off.

Have a great Labor day weekend

So much damage. Hard to think about how all those people are going to rebuild after an already tough economy.
