Friday Friday...

Happy Friday!!

It's going to be gorgeous here this weekend....up to 75 degrees by Sunday!! I have lots of "honey-do's" planned for my Honey and me, and it involves little or no football!

We are going to finally paint our front door and two side doors. Right now they are a faded reddish mauve and I'd like them a navy blue....but hubby isn't on board yet with that color...so today I'm painting a big poster board navy blue to sell him on it....wish me luck. Everyone has a red door I am in a blue phase...I follow two different bloggers that have painted blue front doors this year and I love them. My front door is exactly like Ann's at On Sutton Place .
When I went to Sherman Williams to get my little sample of Navy blue the two ladies working there were totally on Hubby side trying to talk me out of it....their suggestions were yellow or a burnt orange, nope it's either Blue or Red....thanks I'll be back!
This photo is much brighter than actual door

We are extending our driveway to make room for parking Katelyn's car and so we can back out of our garage without landing on the grass or hitting Katelyn's car like my hubby has twice now. The rains finally stopped and they came and poured the concrete yesterday...it looks so nice! I have never been so excited to have concrete before....so in three weeks we can use it....I  really hope we don't run into the barrier blocking the new concrete.

I'm so proud of my daughter Katelyn so made National Honor Society. She is really excited to be a part of this group and I think it will be a really good asset for her college applications. But with that comes more community service hours.....so far she has 53 hours needed to be done between different clubs and NY state requirements. She needs to get busy....

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Stop by Half-Past Kissin Time today!

I think the blue would look great. I can't remember what your home looks on the outside. What color does your hubby want? I'm with you there are a lot for red doors. Don't get me wrong I like them, but I like to be different. Enjoy your weekend! It is going to be in the 80s by us. Tomorrow going with 30+ friends apple picking. xo
Way to go Miss K!!!

The blue wil be beautiful - as long as you can convince your husband! I can't wait to see it. That door you linked to is just perfect! And I loved hearing about the two old ladies trying to talk you out of your choice. So cute! Will you post a photo when it's done? Or maybe pictures of the painted poster board?

Big props to Katelyn! Wow!

Our front door is black...against red 'used' brick on the house....I think Navy blue would be super!!! Hope the poster board does the trick/selling your hubby on the idea.

It is unfortunate the husbands don't immediately see our 'vision'- if blue does not work it can always be repainted (not)!!

Enjoy that lovely warm weather while it lasts!

You have such fine and classic taste, I'm sure your husband will agree... I LOVE navy blue...tons of shades of navy (as I can't wear my navy shoes with navy pants... just too different a shade) - fun to make a change! Congrats to you daughte, I know that stands out BIG to colleges... nice when hard work pays off (tribute to her parents) - Have a GREAT weekend!

Congrats to Katelyn!
And I love the idea of a navy door. Navy is the new black! Actually navy would have looked really nice on our place in Muskoka but I opted for charcoal grey.
Have a great weekend! :)

My favorite color is blue. I grew up in a community called Bayou Blue. I had a "blue room" growing up. Go blue. Show your beloved all these blog posts that call for the blue door.

Congrats to your daughter on making the NHS. I remember how happy I was when I finally made it my senior year. Don't remember having to do any community service for it though--that's a good change I think!

I'm a fan of navy! Our front door is dark green...we may paint it this year and I could maybe get away with blue as my house is a soft yellow. I really need to redo the porch railings though...and then the colums at the driveway entry...and then do something about the drive itself...and the side hill...and on and on and on it goes : )

The blue is a fantastic choice. I'm with you, red is passe'. Congratulations to your daughter. You should be so very proud of her.

Here today it's 75 right now and supposed to get a couple of degrees warmer too. It's such a tease though. It'll be snowing soon enough.

Yay for fun coloured doors! The red is nice, but I'm sure the blue would be gorgeous, too. Hope hubs gives the thumbs up :) Our door is white...and hubby REFUSES to let me paint it. Sigh. But, I pick my battles, and that one seems a small one to let him 'win' ;)

And, thanks...Munchin is feeling better already. Luckily, a 24 hour thing! Boy had the same a couple of weeks ago...fever that lasts less than a day, with no other flu like symptoms. Weird. But, I'm grateful it didn't last longer than it did!

Have a fab week...love your October header, btw!

Yay for NHS! That's fantastic!!!

My favorite color is navy blue, so I'm backing you completely on getting your navy blue door!

Congratulations to Katelyn! National Honor Society is a very big deal. High Five!

Your current door color is the same as my door. But your blue door is the same color I used to have. I love them both. My friend paints her front door all the time so if hubby doesn't like the blue, you can change it.

Hope the blue wins! xo jj
