Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What gives you goosebumps?

Certain songs...like Amazing grace, The National Anthem
And stories about unbelievable things...
oh and when it's really cold out!

2. Halloween-are you a lover or a hater? Okay, that sounds harsh...Halloween-yay or nay?

I don't hate Halloween but there are many reason why I'm not a huge fan...hopefully I won't offend anyone...my Birthday is the day before so my whole life my cards were halloween, my cake and gifts all halloween...hated working in grocery store on halloween all walks of life dressed in outrageous costumes made IDing for beer and cashing checks impossible. Always worried that we would get robbed by Frankenstein or a witch!

3. Can you respect someone you do not trust, and can you trust someone you do not respect?

No on both...respect and trust are earned not just given, once one is lost the other goes out the window.

4. Apples or oranges? Yes, you have to choose.

Apples definitely smothered in caramel...or plain works too!

5. What is something you wish was in your town? (shop, restaurant, attraction, etc)

Oh this could be a long list....
Cafe Rio (best fresh mex in SLC, Utah)
Tai Pan ( huge wholesale for public home decor store in SLC, Utah)
Mountains
Are just a few....

6. What non-food item is in your refrigerator or freezer?

Ice pack in freezer

7. Are you at all superstitious?

Sure black cat, ladders....not stepping on cracks or anything crazy like that...lol!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Is any one watching the Anderson show? He replaced Oprah for me....omg I just love him! His day time show is so interesting and fun plus seeing a whole different side of him. I ❤ Anderson Cooper...shh don't tell my Hubby!

Stop by and join the Hodgepodge over at Joyce's place...From this side of the Pond

Have a great day!

I haven't seen his show...I rarely have the tv on during the day so I miss stuff. My sister's birthday is the day after Christmas...we make an effort to keep it separate. We dont' wrap her gifts in Christmas paper, tempting as that is and we buy birthday decorations even though she's in her late 50's : )

Enjoy your day! Are you expecting snow this weekend?

I haven't seen his show but I do like him.

Have a good day and I heard your neck of the woods is expecting some snow.

Love your pup!

I enjoyed your answers. Hope mountains will come to town :) And I like Anderson Cooper too, but have not heard of the show, they'll come to Malaysia as re-runs! I am following the X-Factor on youtube.

Totally agree on respect and trust, apples (definitely with the caramel!), ice pack in my freezer too, certain songs and an amazing voice gives me goosebumps. I haven't seen Anderson's show - though I do like him so I would probably enjoy it. Wish we had more greenery here, cooler summers, Target, Home Depot and a decent postal system :)

I never respect people I can't trust. Hello. Respect and trust go together in my world, too!

How long are your p's visiting? Have fun with them! I can see how Halloween would take over your birthday, just like if your bday was near Christmas. Enjoy! xo

I love Anderson too and his show is really good!

Those songs give me goose bumps too!

I've never seen the Anderson show. I might have to check it out now.

I can understand why you are not a fan of Halloween. I always feel like it is unfair to make people with holidays near their birthdays combine them.

Darn! I miss everything being over here in Germany. Anderson Cooper has a show???? (I love him too). Please drop by my blog and tell me what Mountains is. I am so out of the loop. BTW, your answer to "Trust and Respect" is EPIC! I 100% agree!

I should try to figure out when Anderson Cooper is on in my TV schedule. During the old Oprah time slot in my part of the world your choices are either Dr. Oz or Ellen. Both good shows but neither are Oprah. I mostly watch Dr. Oz but his shows can be scary. TMI!!! That is a huge gap in my afternoon. I miss Oprah terribly.

I love Halloween. It is the one holiday where you only have to buy and give out candy. Easy! Halloween is Halle's birthday (she will be 13) and I will wish you an early Happy Birthday!!!

I think the tradition of kids coming to the doors is dwindling. Every year I have way too much candy leftover. There are many community events that are safe for the kids. You can never be sure anymore about your neighbors. We have registered sex offenders in our hood. You should see their house! Any time now they will erect a HUGE SIGN in their yard and another at their door "DO NOT COME TO OUR HOUSE - WE HAVE NO CANDY" They also put those crime scene tapes all over the front porch area. It is clear no children are to knock on their door. Sadly the house next door to where they live is for sale. They really do keep to themselves AND are supervised but they are creepy nonetheless.

I haven't seen the show, In place of Oprah is Ellen in my neck of the woods and I'm not a HUGE TV fan. Love the apples covered in anything, nice and sweet.

How out of the loop am I? I had no idea Anderson had a show!
Love your answer to #3!
And Sophie: How cute is she?

Yes , I don't think I would like halloween if all my birthday stuff was Halloween themed. Yes, I would love a cafe rio here I'm georgia. I just made a copy cat recipe. I would say it was pretty dang close. You just put the pork roast on crockpot add a coke a little garlic salt 2 cups salsa and1/2 cup brown sugar. When meet is cooked take out and shred then add 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 cup salsa that has been heated on stove. Then serve with your toppings. So yummy!

My birthday is the day after Halloween. I always liked having all the candy on my birthday! haha!

That must be annoying having your Birthday so close to Halloween. It wouldn't matter so much over here because we don't go in for it in such a big way in Britain.
So I hope you have a very Happy Birthday .... in spite of the Halloween stuff!

I've always felt bad for people with birthdays too near holidays. They get ripped off no matter what!

Hi stranger! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. A lot has been going on the past 3 months. Nothing major, just stuff and life. I too, love Anderson Cooper and his "new" side of him. I bet he is really fun in real life. Happy, Happy Birthday to you!! My husband feels your pain, his is on Christmas day! Happy Halloween too!
XOXO
