1. What can the average citizen do to honor a military veteran and/or those currently serving?

Fly our flag, thank a service member every time you see one in uniform....appreciate our freedom.

2. Besides a flag what is something you own that is red, white and blue?

Pillows, signs....furniture...my bonus room is Americana so it's filled with all kinds of  RWB items.

3. Does love really conquer all?

I think so...

Strawberry shortcake all the way! 

5. Do you share personal stuff with your hairdresser?

I do...after all you are sitting there sometimes for hours with a captive audience!

I think in some people...

My living room couch and love seat set...it's next on the list of wants!

Needing some ideas for my daughter for a memorable graduation gift....her college provides a MAC book and an Ipad so that's out. I want to give her something to mark the occasion and show her how proud we are but I'm at a loss. Any ideas of what you received or gave your children would be greatly appreciated!

1. What's something you miss about the 1980's? If you're too young to miss the 80's how about the 90's?

My big hair....I have very thin hair now I'd trade for my big ol 80's perm! oh why were at it I'll take my 18 year old body too! I love 80's music so I miss that but thanks to Pandora radio you can always find your way to the 80's! 

2. Do you have a library card? If so, how often do you visit?

I never got one when we moved here to Western NY....almost 2 years ago now! I've been reading a lot too.....I usually buy.borrow and usually donate back to library after. 

3. What's the secret to success?

Believe in your self...set goals and follow through!

4. This is National Backyard Games week...what's your favorite backyard game?

Bocce Ball but we are embracing the East Coast game of Can Jam though I suck at it big time. 

5. If I dropped by today what would I find on your coffee table?

Not much....just spent all day cleaning....if it was yesterday...I'd say dust! 

6. Do you own a bicycle? When was the last time you rode a bicycle? Is that something you enjoy?

Yes I love my Africa Bike....it was my mode of transportation for two years...now in the last two years I've rarely ridden it....no sidewalks and very rollie here. Last time I rode was almost a year ago...with our neighbors 30 miles along the Niagara River to the falls! 

7. What's your favorite cheese?

I love cheddar, swiss, brie....

My hubby is coming home tomorrow after spending a large chunk of May traveling for work....I can't wait to have him home for a long weekend! Lots to do around the ol house hold....the honey do list is long! I'm glad he likes doing projects....the man can not sit still.....plus I'll be there along side of him helping...really I do help!

Friday Fragments

*Yesterday my daughter had her last field trip for High School....they went to an airfield where they have a driving course demonstrating drunk driving and distracted driving...kinda of a scared straight before Prom and Graduation celebrating starts! As she left for school I said have fun driving drunk! I hope I never say that again....felt wrong! They don't actually get the kids drunk, they wear googles that make them feel drunk....Needless to say....she came home and said it was so boring! I say so is a hangover! DON'T DRINK and DRIVE! 

*Any American Idol fans out there??? Dancing with the Stars?? All the finals are next week...this years talent was so good! I hope Jessica wins Idol and Donald Driver for DWTS! I'm glad the shows are all ending...the weather is getting nicer and spending less time inside and more time outside! 

* I have been looking for throw pillows for my outdoor furniture...holy cow why are they so expensive? I was at Walmart they wanted $25 for an oversized one...so today I'm heading to the fabric store I want 7 pillows made, I'm hoping my 7th grade sewing skills come back to me.

*Katelyn got pulled over for the first time in almost a year of having her license. It was after work on Saturday night late after 11:30 on a deserted country road...she was hauling ass I'm sure. He followed her a while before pulling over....her thoughts were "why is this car folioing me....I'll speed up"! then the lights came on...her next thoughts were "oh it's an ambulance..better pull over to let them pass...!"

It was no ambulance.....poor girl was shaking....officer was nice asked her a lot of questions and told her to slow down lots of deers on this road. Then followed her another mile down the road...

When she got home she was shaking and said " I'm never speeding again"!! 

I road with her yesterday....she was speeding! Gotta love teens!

* This weekend is orientation for Katelyn and registration for Fall.....wow the reality of college is slapping us all across the face.....it's really coming quick!

1. What is a pet peeve you have when vacationing?
Loud and obnoxious people! 

2. Would you describe yourself as a light packer or do you need everything in your closet plus the kitchen sink?

I would say after living and traveling in Europe I'm a light packer....unless I drive somewhere then I tend to over pack! 

3. What's the best lesson a child ever taught you?

Patience 

4. Share one piece of advice you'd give a recent graduate as they attempt to enter the job market?

Be willing to start at the bottom, network, network, network! 

5. What's your favorite lemon something?

Lemon pound cake, Lemon bars.....Lemon gelato....I like Lemon treats!

6. Flat sandal, wedge, heel...your favorite footwear?

Always flats or clogs and an occasional wedge but rarely a heel! 

7. What do you like best about a beach holiday? If you're not a beach lover (GASP!!) what do you dislike the least?

Sound of the waves crashing.....sun, sand.....drinks with umbrellas!

We spent all last weekend getting our flower beds ready and cleaned up.....now if it can just stop raining, warm up....I can plant some flowers and shrubs! We pulled so many onions out of the beds....I never planted them nor do I remember them last year....weird! 
I'm not allowed to do crop circles any more....straight lines only....I accidentally hit a tree while mowing...just a little one...small dent on the tracker! Not trying to get fired from this mowing chore...but breaking a few lawn mowing rules along the way!

So happy it's Friday.....how about you?

We had the most beautiful day yesterday....it was sunny and 70! 

I had to turn on the A/C it was so hot in our house.

Last night was my Theater Group Night the play was South Pacific!

The music and voices were amazing but it was a long and slow moving story!

We are a group of five two seat are separate by a row each way..not a big deal!

But last night the lady to my left was leaning so far into my seat and the guy to my right was doing the same! I was so boxed in, it was maddening...! I wanted to say something so bad!

But I didn't want to come across rude...but I can't believe people are clueless to their space allotment !

My hubby replaced our half bath faucet over the weekend! It resulted in a few bumps and bruises! 

Not sure how this happened but it's gotten worse with each day passing! It's more purple and now an inch lower....I keep telling him if people ask you should say.....you should see the other guy! But he tells his plumbing tale instead...boring! 

Started Pilates this week with Orlando.....

Omg...my core is so sore! 

Orlando is hard core...I got caught resting a couple times!

I thought first day and all cut me some slack....oh no not Orlando! 

I loved the class it was a butt kicker or a gut buster!

Mother's Day is a week from this Sunday! 

Love this day...my family treats me pretty good everyday but love having a dedicated day to being the Queen! 

I have my eye on one of these babies for me!

My girl

Last night Katelyn was a awarded a certificate of merit for the 2012 Chamber Choice Student awards, along with nine other students in her school and 30 others from neighboring schools . This award was given out by the Greater  Chamber of Commerce recognizing student achievements.

We are really proud of our girl......

But with that said it was a little disappointing her principal and vice principal clearly do not know their students or could even fake like they did. The principals from the other schools spoke about these kids like they knew them well. Our principal even with a bio in front of him called her two different names fumble through her bio...miss said her college of choice and sounded really unprepared! I know it was ten kids he had to speak about but take the time and read the material...you are a representative of that school don't sound like a bafoon! 

She is receiving another award from the Kiwanis Club in our town at the end of the month, I can't wait to see what name her principal calls her this time! 

Congrats KATELYN !! We love you!
