Embracing the empty nest

Well it's been just over a week since we became an empty nest
 or 239 hrs and 50 minutes, 20 seconds...not that I'm counting!

It's been an adjustment....I'm gonna need some time to find a new normal!
Last week I stayed busy cleaning my house.
This week I'm going to start my exercise routine back up.
Next week I'm going to head to an antique fair in Massachusetts.

After that well I'm working on that...
Lots of phone calls from worried friends and family....
It's only been a week...
We are all adjusting and embracing.

It certainly helps knowing my child is happy and thriving in her new adventure.
Plus knowing parents weekend is five weeks and October break is a week after that.
And Thanksgiving is six weeks after that.
Then Christmas she will be home for almost six weeks...
Not that I'm counting...
I'm fine!

Happy Monday!

That's when I found blogging! It was a great distraction for me at that time. I feel for you, girlie!

Love the cartoon. I did get a puppy last year, but no stroller rides lol :-)

You will definitely discover your "new normal" as you go along, and it will be great!!! Hang in there!

also, thanks for your sweet comments about little Ayla. She is the EASIEST BABY EVER!!! She goes to bed before 7 pm, sleeps all night long and is not fussy at all. She eats everything and Halle just fell completely in love with her. It was so cute to watch, almost like Halle thought SHE was Ayla's mom! xoxo

The cartoon is funny but also kinda true. It definitely helps having a dog in the house!

Hey, mine have both graduated and I still don't have it together : )

The NEW norm will become second nature to you in a few more months. You'll be fine. Just remember your daughter is having the time of her life. Take care.
