1. Americans will celebrate Labor Day this coming weekend. Do you know what we're actually celebrating? (without consulting your friends Google or wikipedia, ahem) What's a project you're currently 'laboring' over?
I've always known it as my official end to summer, weekend of awesome sales, the last hurrah before school starts....historically I'd embarrassedly have to consult my friends at the internet.
2. Labor Day also signals the unofficial end of summer for most of us...what summer food will you miss the most? If you're in the southern hemisphere feel free to substitute winter for summer.

3. A well known proverb states, 'It's easier to seek forgiveness than ask permission.' Your thoughts?
My thoughts are those people don't like to hear the word "NO" !
4. Food critic, film critic, book critic, art critic....which hat would you most like to wear?
I'd be a good food critic and how fun would that be to wear that hat...
Not a good book critic because I find something good in all books....
Not a good film critic either like most movies also....
Now art is in the eye of the beholder...it's a matter of taste.
5. When you were a kid, who (besides your parents) was your favorite adult?
Probably a teacher...I really remember liking all my teachers back in the day!
6. The astronaut, Neil Armstrong, passed away last week. He was regarded as a hero by many generations of people all around the world. Do we still have modern day heroes? What makes someone a hero?
I think so....what makes a hero....someone that gives selfishly to help others, changes the world, makes an impact. I like watching CNN heroes some amazing people out there!

It's gives me such a piece of mind receiving a text or call or Skype from Katelyn. I feel really lucky with today's technology that staying in touch is so easy. Just seeing a post on Face Book or a picture is enough to but a mom at ease.

I wouldn't get tired of that smiling face either. I love watching the happiness on my children's faces. It's amazing how much technology can keep up in touch with one another.
Never thought of Skype. I have to get an account and we can actually "talk" instead of "type". :-D
I had one teacher in particular who influenced my life. He even took me out to lunch once. If a teacher did that now-a-days all hell would break loose!
Technology is amazing...so much easier to stay connected. I remember driving from Tennessee home to NJ-9 hours-by myself! without a cell phone. I'm sure my mom was anxious but not as anxious as we are when we know they have a cell phone and don't call : )
Your daughter looks happy!
She looks so happy. Remember back In our college days? My mom would have to call me on the residence pay phone in the hall - someone would have to answer the ringing phone and come knock on my door. Gotta love Skype!
Yes, being a food critic would be so much fun. I will have to check out that CNN program on heroes. I agree that with today's technolgy and the fact that we can have instant answers.
I have been having watermelon every single day and that thought just crossed my mind --i.e., that I will miss watermelon the most when summer is over!
Katelyn looks quite content and I am glad to see her doing so well!
I will miss getting salmon and halibut from friends and neighbors... I do not fish and I do not want to fish either but find fish very tasty, especially now that I am pretty much eating lots of beans and veggies and have cut down meat and chicken consumption to "occasional". xoxo
Yep, technology is pretty great when it comes to staying in touch with loved ones. I'm so happy Katelyn is looking so darn happy at college-- Really?!?!? College! Sheesh-- still hard to imagine.
Sounds like you're doing pretty good. This coming week is the antiquing trip, isn't it. (Jealous!)
Hang in there, you're doing a great job. And I hope Miss Sophie's anxiety is getting under control too.
