Sundays in my City-Kissing Bridge Ski Resort

Kissing Bridge Ski Resort located in Western New York just celebrated their 50th year. It's located half an hour from our home and where my family will be skiing this winter. Katelyn is doing training there to become a instructor. She has another week of on mountain training and an interview for her first job.
She is really excited, it's funny she will be most likely teaching the little kids ski groups. She will be off her skis teaching more than on. She is really patient and loves kids so should do good. She loves to ski and is her happiest when on the mountain racing down the slopes with her Dad.

It's a big change skiing in little resorts of WNY with 500 vertical feet when you are used to the Wasatch Mountains of Utah with 3,000 Vertical feet and high speed trams! But skiing =smiles!

Join my friend Unknown Mami and other city around the world this SUNDAY!

I agree that skiing=smiles. I have only been a couple of times in the last few years, but I live at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, so I should go a lot more often. Kissing Bridge sounds like a great place and a fun place for your daughter to work.

It looks like so much fun. I went skiing once at 16, hurt my knee and never went back but of course it takes a couple hours or more to even get get to the local mountains. If I grew up with a resort in my backyard I probably would have given it another try. So glad you are all having fun on the slopes. :)

I'm not a skier but this place looks lovely. I hope Katelyn loves being an instructor. It sounds like a very fun job.
Happy SIMC, jj

I wish we could go skiing this year, but it is not in the cards.

I've done water skiing many times, but never been snow skiing. I need to put this on my bucket list, even at my age.

P.S. Pretty header.

I took my kids to Gore Mountain one year, up there near you all, and we also zipped across a frozen lake on the ATVs. Gore is where my kids learned to ski, and they really loved it. We have video to prove it. :-) Skiing = fun!

I love to ski too - I'm wondering what it will be like in NC? I'll let you know!

I read through a bunch of your posts as I have been MIA because of moving into our new home. I was missing Gluhwein too! We found that trader Joes has a good spiced cider and I added a red wine and heated it up and it tasted so much like the gluhwein we used to get in Hungary. Miss that stuff :( and the Christmas Markets too.

I love your new blog header! Merry Christmas (and 5 fireplaces, you are a really lucky girl!)

well you certainly won't have to depend on man-made snow! looks like so much fun and a sweet job - fun, kids, fresh air - beat working in a cubicle! despite growing up in northern Ontario, I never learned to ski - probably because we would have had frost bite in 5 minutes! :)

I don't get the concept of skiing = smiles but I guess that is because I have seen snow only 3 times ever and only once attempted (but failed dismally) skiing. Your photos make me want to visit the snow and give it another try, perhaps next Australian winter...

Good luck with the job interview Katelyn.

Good for her! What a wonderful first job. I've never been skiing, so I'm always intrigued by people who love to do it and can teach it.

PS: I love your header images!
