Happy Friday!
Yesterday was really the official first day of summer vacation in our house. Katelyn's first day she planned our whole day...we did everything on her list. Started with working out somewhere in the middle of the day was a nap for me and reading for her, ended with a movie on demand....it was a great first day.
Today she is ditching me, taking my car and heading to the mall....what to look for a job you ask? hahahaha funny no shop with a friend! Starting next week it's business all business....job hunting, getting volunteering lined up and shadowing lined up...I'll be cracking the whip!
The start to summer here has been the pits, we've had rain off and on all week, muggy humid out and grey. Not my idea of summer....thanks Mother Nature!
We're heading to Pittsburgh for a college tour, I'm excited it's the closest one she is looking at 3.5 hours away and the largest 10,000 students. Last time we drove to Pittsburgh we didn't spend a lot of time in the city. This time we are going early and doing some exploring. There must be something special to this city every freaking hotel was booked. We have to stay a half hour outside the city, so I'm curious about the draw.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Stop by Mrs. 4444 at Half Past Kissin time!

College tours are very scary! It is a reminder of what is just around the corner. Send some of that rain to NC. We are in a drought and everything is dry and brown.
Happy Summer!!
Happy Summer! I hope the weather brightens up for you - I'll send some from Dubai - we have too much! I've only driven through Pittsburg once - some really pretty areas, others not so much, but I'm sure you'll have a great time checking it out. Have a great weekend! xo
I hope summer gets its act together and produces some decent weather for you! We've been getting everything from torrential rain and un-Sydney-like cold through to lovely sunny weather as we headed into winter.
Enjoy exploring in Pittsburg!
Weather has been yucky here, too. Though, I'm not so bothered by it. I'm not a fan of hot weather. I don't mind the cooler temps, I do mind the grey, though.
My nearly 17 year old is thinking ROTC after high school. Do they do tours? I think I'd rather do the college tour. *sigh* Enjoy it, though - I hope she chooses the one nearest to you.
Pittsburgh, I would imagine, cause I've never been, probably does have a good deal of attractiveness to travelers. It's one of the places I want to visit.
Ah yes - - - these nest fledging activities are sooooooo hard.
Have fun, hope it is the place she likes. It is nice to have her so close, but far enough away she will become more independent and experience the college life.
Sounds like you had a fun day!
It's finally hot and sunny here and I'm in heaven!!
Have fun!
Hope the sun comes out for you this weekend. Enough with the bad weather already!
Love the tiger lily-- We had lots of them in our yard growing up.
College tours already?!?!? Hard to imagine it's time for that already. I hope Pittsburg is the perfect (close to home) spot for Katelyn.
Safe travels, xo jj
College tour... wow. I never got to do that! My son made plans with his friend to visit without telling me or his dad. Took the train to Hoboken and told us has he was heading out the door while we had plans we couldn't break! Never wanted to apply anywhere else. Steve's got one more year at Stevens Tech. He never let me teach him to ride a bike either, for that matter! Some kids..ya know!
Glad yours lets you enjoy the process with her.
I like the college tour trend - I just looked from brochures and picked one. Have fun in Pittsburgh!
