We didn't have time to tour the city much, but got last minute tickets to the Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Red Sox game. We have never lived anywhere that had a major league team so poor Katelyn has never been to a game. Now we are not big baseball people but I think it's something to experience once in your lifetime.
Nothing better than cold beer and hot dog at a baseball game, followed by peanuts, cotton candy and a foam finger....! I loved the energy and excitement of the crowd. Like I said all of Boston was there, it was a sea of Red and enough fans to get a "Lets go Red Sox's" chant going!
Pittsburgh ended up winning, which is rare I guess and a great game to witness. The fans were pretty happy and afterwards was the most spectacular fire works display I have ever seen.
Next morning we had college fest...they put on quite an affair and wowed us all. I really like the University, I think it's program has a lot to offer and of course the 3.5 hour away is huge to me.
It was a great weekend...hard to believe we are in the last week of June already!!
Happy Monday all!

I know Pittsburgh doesn't have the best rep, but I love that city. I think it would be a great place to go to school.
Sounds like a great weekend!! 3 1/2 hours away sounds great to me!
Looked like a great weekend! Such an exciting time looking at colleges!
Have a great week....can't believe June is over...already!

I live with men who don't feel life is normal if it doesn't involve a couple of games a season. Yankees though!
Pittsburgh is such a lovely historial city. Filled with rich culture! I want to go there again!
I'm glad you were able to go to the game. Love a baseball game with the great food. Have a good week my friend! xo
Looks lovely! Glad you had a good time. :)
I recognize that bridge. We did a weekend in Pittsburgh back in November when I was surprised with a John Mellencamp concert. But I envy you more getting to see the ballgame. Just being able to get tickets is a feat itself, especially when the Red Sox are playing.
Sounds like a fantastic weekend! Your pics are awesome. I agree, there's nothing like seeing a game in person, be it baseball, hockey or my fave: basketball. And of course, it's all about the hotdogs! :)
i agree totally - tho i'm not a baseball fan, i know the importance of this american experience so i took my man to see the mariners at safeco field and it was really something! some friends of ours who are baseball people got us really good tickets (i was afraid of getting hit with the pitched balls!) and explained every little thing about the game. baseball can be a mystery and baffling if you don't know the rules. my man was able to understand what was happening and really get the most out of it. i'll never forget it!
Great shots! Nice perspecives.
Glad the college fair went well. What an exciting time for you and your daughter!
We call it Pissburg! : ) Baltimore and Pittsburgh are huge sports rivals. I have never visited there but my husband often does since his company is based there. He says it's a fun city.
Have a great week.
Did you eat at Primanti Brothers? According to my hubs that's a must and a selling point to the city : )
I've never been to Pittsburgh but I know people who love love love the school. Good luck!
There's nothing more fun than fireworks after a baseball game! We go to Detroit games and they do that every Friday night when the Tigers are home. Thanks for visiting my blog...I'm a new follower.
I've only been through Pittsburgh but it looked like a great city.
I love going to ball games, so fun!
Fun!!! I enjoy baseball- you got lucky to see the Red Sox play!!! Sounds like a memorable weekend. Getting ready up here for the family arrival on Friday! So happy they will soon be here! xoxo Ina
Glad you had such a good weekend.
Always good to hear about a place that I don't know.
