Friday Fragments...

Happy Friday!

It's been a fast week! Slowly getting back into the swing of things after vacation! Sophie came back from vacation skinny, we need to fatten her up. She eats when she is there, but really active. Here she is lazy and sleeps all day! I on the other hand came back from vacation fatter and need to get serious!

Katelyn and I went to dinner with our neighbor the other night. It was fun she is a nut. She has never lived anywhere but here and is very small town. I was telling her the differences of people in WNY vs. everywhere else plus the different foods. I think she was shocked to hear the rest of the world is not all about Wings! While we were looking at the menu she pointed out to Katelyn a sandwich called a BLT and seriously wanted to know if she had ever heard of them, like they are exclusive to WNY. It was all we could do but laugh.

It's finally raining here, it's been the hottest and driest July in many years. Our lawn like straw, really sad to see. The grass is dying but the weeds just keep growing.....doesn't seem right! I hope it rains all weekend.

I hope you all have a fun, relaxing and enjoyable weekend! Stop by Mrs. 4444's at Half past kissin time for more fragments plus she did a great Vlog today!

It just doesn't seem fair that Sophie returns from holidays slim and I only have to look at food and gain a pound! Your neighbour sounds hilarious (although I have to admit I've come across a few people like that as well).
Gosh - it sounds like you're as dry as we are in Dubai - minus the sand! Poor grass - I hope it rains and things green up for you. have a great weekend! :)

I can't imagine anyone has pretty lawns this summer. It's desert weather everywhere. :(

So funny about BLT's!

BLT----hard to believe anyone has traveled that little, yet I know it's true. We live two minutes from the Wisconsin border and my neighbor has only been in TWO states! Lordy me!

Interesting! I was wondering what a BLT was too.... (kidding!!) Although I like that sandwich without the "L". Sounds like a sweet lady, can you imagine never leaving your hometown? Here in Alaska most people are from somewhere else and travel is a MUST esp in winter.

Glad its raining. Time for a puddle walk with Sophie, sound like she falls apart when she goes to camp! xoxo

I thought it was all about the beef on weck in WNY. :-)

Our yard has been crunchy and sad for about a month. We haven't gotten much rain at all and they keep saying drought. I hate that word.

It is so annoying that the weeds thrive on the drought but the lawn doesn't? Isn't that just the way of things though?

Oh but isn't vacation for indulging a bit! :-)

Glad you finally got some rain. We are the opposite here. The lower lying areas in our yard can't seem to dry up.

Have a great weekend!

The convo with your neighbor reminds me of exchanges I've had with my MIL where she asks me if I've ever tried sparkling water or if I know what farina is.

It's so funny when people have never heard of things I think are commonplace. I worked with a guy once who had never had cornbread. I know it's southern and we're up north, but I still thought it was funny!

Glad to hear you're getting some rain!

My dogs come back skinny too but it's because they're sad and don't eat. :(
