Oh boy sister, you are in for a rough ride. Don't worry, she will always come home to you. She loves you!

I feel your pain : ) You figure out a new normal, but it takes time. Congratulate yourself on raising an independent young woman.

Well...I wish I could tell you it's just fine when they go off but I'm not going to lie. It's awful. My kids are 25 and 28 and I'm still not adjusted to having them gone. It's much better than it was...so I'm at least making progress. My best advice is to keep busy. Blogging has helped me a great deal. Hope she had a good time at Disney. I just love that place!

I have one child too...and it was hard - and I work at the University he attended, but did not see him much - but it was missing him at home! Don't worry, they usually come back (after college)... he's now in grad school and living home. I got another p/t job after I realized I had more time - and decided it was only going to be where I wanted to work, or I wasn't going to do it, took a few months and I'm still at Williams Sonoma (and spend WAY more than I make)... time to do things for YOU... it's an adjustment, but when they are happy and doing well, you'll be happy as well. I think the time leading up to them leaving is hardest... you'll make the best of it and be surprised.
PS... Freshman year I was almost dreading him coming home in May...not really him... ALL HIS STUFF!

You taught her well my friend. She has wings and will always find her way home. xo

Yep. My *baby* is entering his Senior year in the fall and I am ALREADY having anxiety about him leaving. I am quietly steering him toward colleges near home.
I just can't imagine not hearing him rustling around in the fridge or not smelling the sweat socks through his door...okay, that's a lie,I won't miss that.
