Wednesday Hodgepodge

Joining Joyce for Wednesday Hodgepodge over at From This Side of the Pond

1. What is a pet peeve you have when vacationing?
Loud and obnoxious people!

2. Would you describe yourself as a light packer or do you need everything in your closet plus the kitchen sink?
I would say after living and traveling in Europe I'm a light packer....unless I drive somewhere then I tend to over pack!

3. What's the best lesson a child ever taught you?
Patience

4. Share one piece of advice you'd give a recent graduate as they attempt to enter the job market?
Be willing to start at the bottom, network, network, network!

5. What's your favorite lemon something?
Lemon pound cake, Lemon bars.....Lemon gelato....I like Lemon treats!

6. Flat sandal, wedge, heel...your favorite footwear?
Always flats or clogs and an occasional wedge but rarely a heel!

7. What do you like best about a beach holiday? If you're not a beach lover (GASP!!) what do you dislike the least?
Sound of the waves crashing.....sun, sand.....drinks with umbrellas!

8. Insert your own random thought here.
We spent all last weekend getting our flower beds ready and cleaned up.....now if it can just stop raining, warm up....I can plant some flowers and shrubs! We pulled so many onions out of the beds....I never planted them nor do I remember them last year....weird!
I'm not allowed to do crop circles any more....straight lines only....I accidentally hit a tree while mowing...just a little one...small dent on the tracker! Not trying to get fired from this mowing chore...but breaking a few lawn mowing rules along the way!

Happy Wednesday!

Patience is something I've attained over the years. When you're raising teenagers, you can never have enough of it!

the rain will of course, give you plenty to mow. I've been known to dig in the sand. Having grandkids around helping me lets me get away with it much better.

We are seriously working on being quiet. My husband tends to be loud though he doesn't mean to be. Kids are just by nature, but we are working on that too. I rarely wear a heal either.

I know that I have overpacked way too many times. I have learned since my trip last year to Europe that I can get by with less! Yes, the waves crashing is the best thing at the beach. I use to dislike getting all sandy but now I love the feel on my feet.

NO heels girl here. And I am a lemon freak. Well, I don't know if "freak" would actually describe me...but I love lemons.
Fun post!

I'm a fairly light packer now too - my guy hasn't seemed to caught on to that yet though! No heels for me either. LOVE anything lemon.
I agree about recent grads - seems so many young people expect to land the ultimate job right from the start. It's just not realistic - everyone needs to work their way up and not be afraid to roll up their sleeves. Glad to hear you're attempting the mower - be careful out there! xo

One of my pet peeves anywhere, not only on vacation, is people smoking near doorways, etc. Hate it!

I too love lemon bars, lemon meringue pie, lemon cookies.... xoxo

I also love the sound of the sea crashing in especially on pebbles.
I only ever wear flat shoes too....... so we have that in common. I wish I had learned patience as a child. I still find that difficult.

Yum-- Lemon Pound Cake is a favorite on mine too!

I'll be planting tomorrow in the garden too. Sorry about the mower dent.

And, I smile every time I see your gorgeous header :-)
