i can't wait to show my man your wish collage when he gets home! that mimics my list almost exactly.
but wait, did you say *Crunchy* JIF pb? hmmmmmm....
have you tried dipping dark german chocolate into JIF? omgosh, that is the main use i have for my JIF now. (remember the first reeses cups commercials?)
what about tampons with applicators?!! urgent! add to list!
neosporin. you know, a big old tube for only $5. have you priced it here? *shiver*
i've got enough splenda, iboprofen, jif, vanilla extract, and choc chips to last a long time. well maybe not enough choc chips...hehe i love introducing german people to nestle toll house cookies! they almost always ask for the recipe, which i have learned to write in german: )
but when i'm home, i've taken to swiping as many ballpoint pens as possible from firms. i once got 8 at a single visit to my bank. i have trouble getting german pens to write well, so now i have several years' worth of pens with american firm names written on them. hotels always lose lots of pens to us, but they expect that i think.
good luck, i know you'll make it back with a suitcase full! just be sure to leave germany with an extra one for this stuff! (i put a smaller suitcase inside a bigger suitcase for the trip to the states, and return to germany with both full.)
I always travel to the states with one small suitcase (practically empty) inside a larger one. Then I can return with all that type of stuff! (plus clothes....) Just look confident and walk quickly back throught the green lane when you return.
Good luck getting through customs with all that. If you get busted, you can just whip out your crazy like I did yesterday. I've discovered that crazy scares Germans. Have a great trip and happy shopping! Go to Target for me!
Good luck!!! It is funny how we just take for granted these small items when they are so readily available. I would miss them so much if I couldn't have them too.
Funny what you miss when you are away from home. It is always the little everyday things isn't it?! When I visit family in Missouri...I miss veggies. California has an abundance all year long...crazy how other parts of the US do not. Buy it all in bulk. You might even want to make carepackages for yourself with those items all boxed up, addressed, and ready to mail...so your family and send them to you when you run out. Holly
Oh my I love your blog! And I thought I was a fish out of water?? WHen ever I travel back home without the kids, I always go with an empty suitcase so grandma and grandpa can fill it up with all of the grandpa goodies they collect over the time they do not see the kids! I'm so excited for your trip to the states!!! I look forward to following your adventure. You are soo brave and so are your kids!! That's quite the move!!

No problem - they wouldn't dare try to part an American woman from her Tollhouse chocolate chips.

Happiness in a suitcase!
lol, do you know what you'll say if they search you....oh sorry just some leftovers fell in my bag.
Most of the items on your list are my equivalent of crack :)
Make some cookies while you are here to bribe the immigration people :)
LOL! Good luck!!
SO much like my list... but in addition, I want midol & crystal light! : )
You can do it!
Your preparations for your trip home remind me a bit of those Target commercials for Black Friday shopping here in the states.
I am SO with you on bringing back chocolate chips! Hubs also wants to bring back Kraft Mac and Cheese and taco seasoning!
I hope you can pull this off!

Never lived abroad so I have no idea what it is to suffer without Tollhouse.
Good luck, I think you're gonna need it!
Are you coming back to SLC? If you are let me know and maybe we could meet for coffee?

A world without Wheat Thins? Say it ain't so!
Germany doesn't have Nestle Chocolate Chips?!?!?! Oh honey, that would be a deal breaker for me-- Or I'd need a much bigger suitcase :-)
Safe travels and good luck!

I had no idea I knew a smuggler.
Peanut butter.. MmmMmmmMmm... they better let you return with that.. I'm not sure what I'd do with no pb.
