So many of you are wondering if we went to the 43 mile garage sale? We sure did, well maybe 33 miles of it! It was a bust definitely a bunch of crap.I think everyone ahead of me bought all the treasures leaving the crap for me! But I did have success that morning, I went to a garage sale before heading out and found more blue and white to add to my collection.

Even though the 43 mile garage sale was a bust it was a beautiful drive. We went through so many towns I have never been to and by the names you think we were travelling the world. We went through, Holland, Boston, Yorkstown it was a gorgeous day, the colors are starting to change. In a couple weeks I'd love to do the drive again and see the difference.
Later in the weekend with my assistance my hubby redid our corner hutch. Our kitchen has cherry wood cabinets and cherry hard wood floors. I would love something different but for now it's fine! So the corner hutch we bought from the previous owners, it fits perfect in the corner of the kitchen, but it's more cherry wood. I felt like cherry wood is taking over and wanted to bring more of the black into the kitchen. I'm really happy with the results.

Great job on the hutch! It looks fantastic. Sorry you didn't find anything at the sale.

Nice score on the small garage sale! Sometimes what sounds like what would be amazing ends up being crap - I've been to many of those!
Love your kitchen and there's nothing wrong with cherry - it beats all the knotty pine I've been trying to disguise! Your cabinet looks beautiful in black :)

I love the blue and white. I began collecting it during our time in Shanghai. Guess I should keep on collecting. Yours is so beautiful. You did a great job at the small garage sale! I am so envious of your kitchen. As you well know, German kitchens are miniscule. When I go back to the states I can't believe how much room/cabinet space/windows I have. I much prefer the black on your cabinet. Good work!

Wow, did you find all that blue & white? that was a good day!

I LOVE what you did to that hutch - I had just decided I would paint ours a color and now I'm thinking about black again . . . hmmmm.

by the way how is the Weight Watchers going? I'm trying to decide if I should join!

Wow what a pretty kitchen! When I was in Jersey, my sis and I took a bike ride on the D&R (Delaware & Raritan) trail into New Hope PA. Along the way we spotted a HUGE flea market along the road which I think your sister the Preppy was at last weekend... anyway we were tempted to stop and browse but we were on a mission to New Hope.

Loved the bike ride, by the way.

Love the addition to your blue pottery collection! xoxo and PS I too have adopted Dr. Oz' no food after 8 PM rule. Works great! xoxo

Your kitchen looks great - really comfortable. It makes me want to sit down, have a cup of coffee and look out the window... And I love the sink in the middle of the room...

And that corner hutch-- It's fantastic in black! What a huge difference.

It sounds like you are settling into you home and new surrounding nicely. I love that you get out so much and explore. Are the fall colors gorgeous yet???

The hutch looks great.

That's too bad about there being mostly junk left in the 43-mile yard sale, but sometimes the drive is just nice too.
