Happy Friday!!

❄ Happy Veteran's Day--thank you to all the men and women who have fought for our country.

❄ Last night I went the the Theater with my new theater group- we saw Million Dollar Quartet , I love it and highly recommend seeing if in your area. It was not a long play but it was filled with great music and wonderful performances.

❄ Snowed last night just a trace...it was so pretty coming down and there is something about snow that gets you in the holiday mood!! Time to start Christmas shopping...40 something days people!!!

❄ Katelyn was accepted into her "reach" school Drexel University with a nice scholarship. We are so proud of her and all really excited. But in the back of my mom mind I'm think ......no no no it's too far away!! That's 8 hours by car!!! She has a few more applications to get out and then it's decision time. Congrats Katelyn....love you!

❄ Random comment....blogger to blogger..do you find when you talk to someone about your blog or a fellow blogger or anything to do with blogs to a non blogger they look at you with a blank stare or like you have three heads!! I find myself saying oh never mind!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Drexel is about 45 mintues from my home. Your daughter will have a "foster" family with the Millers during her college experience. And of course, you are welcome to stay with us anytime you want to visit. xoxo
Happy Friday!

GREAT news for Katelyn (and her proud parents), that first accept is huge, shaves a litte anxiety! GREAT school and Philly is easy to get around (close to many of her Aunts)! And... most people have NO idea of what a blog is... Have a great weekend!

Non bloggers just don't get it. There are so many bloggers, but it's like we are mythical creatures to non-bloggers.

I'm doing a happy dance for Katelyn. Congratulations!

Congratulations on the college acceptance. Having just gone through all that last year, I feel the pain of letting go but also know that you have to let them spread their wings.

Plus they appreciate you that much more.

Congratulations to Katelyn!

I have tried several times to talk about a blog,my blog or another blogger to a non blogger and they think Im so weird..lol I suppose I need to get out more!

Oh your last fragment/question is so very true. I find it similar to when I was in engineering school and talked technical to non-technical people. It's not good or bad it's just different and not everyone understands.
Hey snow and shopping - I know much better items to get the Christmas mood going - songs, lights, egg nog. Hey I only experienced Christmas in the south once but it was not too bad.

Most people find it cool when I tell them I blog, but I have to admit some find it strange. Congratulations to Katelyn!

I agree with you about snow being perfect for putting us in the holiday mood. My college roommate and I used to call each other to announce the first snow. Nothing like a six am call with a sing-song voice "it's snowing"

Congrats to Katelyn! That is wonderful to hear something this early. When we visited U of Penn Drexel was a few streets over, isn't this correct? I remember seeing banners on the street posts. Such an interesting area. I say being on the same time zone is quite acceptable. Won't you have a lot to talk about over the dinner table in a couple of weeks?

Congrats to your daughter. I wish her a wonderful future. I have been dying to see Million Dollar Quartet. I wish it would come here or somewhere within driving distance. Glad you enjoyed it. I know exactly what you mean about non-bloggers. They haven't a clue. Take care.

Congrats to Katelyn!
That's fantastic!
I'm sorry it's far.
I guess coming home every weekend to do
laundry would be too much to ask of her? :)

LOL...first congrats to your daughter, how exciting to have options. And yes, in the beginning my friends would look at me like a BLOG? What do you do on there? Now they call me Debbiedoos all the time, or say something like, but your Debbiedoos you can do it LOL...I think they poke fun at me, but I can take it. Have a great day.

Gorgeous header, as usual, my friend.

Figured out the linky issue; the "l" from the end of your link was missing.

Oh, my! Eight hours? Wow, though--That's awesome!

Yes, people are sometimes patronizing about my blogging, too, but I don't let it bother me; they don't know the half of it.

Best of luck to Katelyn with her options (hopefully, she will have many! :)

Congrats to your daughter...my dad worked at Drexel for 20 years after retiring from the Marine Corps. My brother did his undergrad there and my sister got her MBA there. My sister lives in the city and my brother just acros the bridge...in an emergency they would gladly help your daughter out ...just something to keep in mind. Its an excellent school. I get the too far thing. sigh.

In answer to your last question....... yes. Most people think it very strange that I *waste* my time blogging (if they don't blog, that is.) Sometimes I don't even bother to tell such people.

Congrats to Katelyn for being accepted. Maybe they'll let you camp out with her for a few months to make sure she's adjusting?

I don't even want to think about Christmas at this point. It's coming way to fast.

It's funny mentioning blogging to people who have no clue. They look like deer caught in head lamps.
